'Splain Streaming in H2H

Postby SanFran1966 » Tue Mar 27, 2012 6:40 pm

My drafted teams are all H2H.

As stated before, this is my first venture into Fantasy Baseball.

When there are 8 pitching slots, how does "streaming" pitchers work?

Does the streamer leave the position blank-open until they find the starter/match-up they want then insert the pitcher?

OR

Is it legal to rotate guys in and out of the spot during the week and acquire multiple stats in the slot? I sorta assume once a guy throws the slot is full?

Yes, it is legal... As long as there's no max moves per week rule...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Yeah, that means you can't stream as easily. I prefer daily leagues simply for the streaming. Since it's weekly, you would have to have your whole lineup set for the whole week by Monday. Streaming usually refers to picking a starting pitcher up on Tuesday for his start on Wednesday. Drop him Wednesday morning (so you still get the start that day) for a starting pitcher and his start on Thursday, and so on and so forth; all the while playing the matchups (decent pitcher in a pitcher's park/decent pitcher against a terrible offensive lineup/etc.). You could still stream in a weekly league, but you would most likely be looking for someone who has two starts or only has one but it's a really favorable one. So it could be done, it's just not as easy.

Hope that helps.

We call it the "Pitch 'n' Ditch". Annoying when you play against it, but totally legal.

Legal and awesome!

Some people find it cheap, but you're risking your ERA and WHIP categories to dominate Wins and K's, so it's not like it's a magical solution to destroy everyone in pitching. It still takes wisdom to properly pull off.

Since I have the player lock, I am projecting week 2 of the Yahoo League.

I want to rotate my last starter position to learn this strategy.

Barry Zito (free agent) projects to start twice (week 4/09-04/15) against the Rockies then Pirates.

Is this the type play to consider?

Going after two start pitchers is the right strategy. Letting Zito anywhere near your lineup is the wrong strategy.
