The Razzball Dilemma

Postby cfrancis » Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:25 pm

I think I speak for all Razzballers when I say that this site rocks.

In fact, it rocks so much, it brings up this "dilemma"...

We all want to see this site get its props. Heck, if Karabell and Berry are viewed as 'experts', Grey and Rudy are approaching minor deity status.

But I certainly don't want my leaguemates to find out about and use this site. I find myself paying attention to the sigs of newer posters, trying to figure out if one of my leaguemates has stumbled upon this FLB gem. just as I did.

Anyone else find themselves reluctant to mention "Razzball" to fellow FLBers?

Yea, it is tough. I've gotten to the point where i'll mention Razzball to my friends/opponents, but i still close down my browser when one of them stops by my house. What they do with the information i should probably keep to myself (especially when we're knocking back beers and talking smack) is up to them, but i don't feel the need to let them see the playbook.

For example, i spot started Pagan on Monday and got a homer out of it. Then i cut Pagan for Fowler and now i'm facing Pagan this weekend because i got drunk last night and talked too much shizz to my opponent. I'm hoping it blows up in his face of course, but i'm starting to get the feeling these guys are doing their scouting by bringing by a case of Buds and then sitting back and listening...

Yes it is a dilemma. However, no way I allow leaguemates know I use the site, god bless if they find it on their own, just for sake of asking about topics with other teams, you can't have owners reading that. To show support contribute I guess.

I told everyone to check it out it in every mock draft I did during the off season. I figure that makes up for the fact that I haven't told the 12 guys (and 1 girl) in my league.

Besides what royce! does, I also tell all my friends who like baseball but not playing fantasy. They actually appreciate razzball with easy.

I've mentioned it to people in that they had to read the joke under so-and-so (I think I told everyone I know that plays to read the June 25th remark on Josh Hamilton. Funniest baseball related thing I've read all year.). Razzball is pretty up there when you Google "Fantasy Baseball", so the jackpot is certainly out there for the finding. I always watch the wire pick-ups and wonder if the GM has been Razzin'.

I'll mention fantasybaseballcafe, and fangraphs and every other source I read, but Razzball has never been shared

Excellent thread. Truth be told, I keep this site from my league mates like I'm in Skull 'n Bones. But I relieve my guilt by contributing $$, so I figure that evens it out a bit.
