Krispie Young

Postby haverjus » Wed Jul 07, 2010 6:41 pm

Grey, or anyone else, is Krispie really this good? I am thinking about dealing for him as keeper for next year but I'm not completely convinced he is quite this good. Can anyone convince me?

He's always had the talent, it is just a matter of him putting it all together.

Take a look at his 2007, and to a lesser extent 2008 numbers. He's done it before.

I think his average might drop to around .250-.260, but he can easily hit 35 bombs and steal 25 bags again....

Agreed with Jimmy; it's not like he hasn't put up 30/30 like numbers before, and he's only 26, so he still has room for improvement.

In my league, Krispie's biggest issue is striking out. If he can walk more and strikeout less, he could become more than a #2/#3 outfielder.
12-teamer, H2H, points, 4 keepers.
Hitters: +1 single, +2 dbl, +3 trpl, +4 HR, +1 RBI, +1 run, +1 BB/HBP, -1 K, +2 SB, -1 CS
Pitchers: +1.5 IP, +1 K, -1 BB/HBP, +5 W, -3 L, +4 S, -2 BS, +3 CG, +10 shutout
Start one player at each position + utility, 4 SPs, 2 RPs. 8 reserves.

As a rookie he went 32/27 and hit .237. He then crapped himself the next two years. Now he is returning to his rookie form. That is what you get when you have a lifetime batting average of .240 and strike out 26 % of the time.
Basically he should be called the Krispie Donkey. To answer your question, I don't think he is as good as his numbers indicate.
