What can Furcal get me?

Postby Dingbat » Thu Apr 15, 2010 9:21 pm

Not much, is what I had assumed. But I put him on the trading block, and I received an offer of Cuddyer plus Burnett for him. I'm not blown away by either player -- Cuddyer doesn't really add much to my team that isn't already covered by Garrett Jones and Josh Willingham, and Burnett's a little less attractive since my league counts K/BB and I'm off to a crappy start in that plus ERA & WHIP (where I wouldn't expect him to help much either). Still, it's definitely good value for a guy I picked up as a free agent a few days ago. The guy who made the offer also has Wandy, who's off to a shaky start, so I'm thinking about countering with Wandy for Furcal straight up. But should I just accept the original trade before the guy changes his mind? If so, who should I drop?

id do wandy for furcal without a second of hesistation. id do burnett straight up too. You can't chase wins, but there's no denying the fact that he's got the best offense in baseball hitting for him. Plus, there aren't a ton of pitchers that will get you 190 K's you can get for a guy you just picked up off waivers.

So counter with wandy if you're feeling lucky. Or take the original deal if you aren't. Furcal isn't going to give you anything the waiver wire can't.

Thanks for the response, amscalone. I countered with Furcal for Wandy, and he accepted! Wandwagon, here I come!
