CC Sab and As-Cabrera for R. Cano and Oswalt?

Postby JimmyD1979 » Thu Apr 15, 2010 4:54 pm

Yo, I've been offered the following trade:

I give CC Sabathia and Asdrubel Cabrera,

I get Robinson Cano, and either Roy Oswalt or Jonathan Sanchez.

Is this a good deal? I'd love to land Cano and don't mind moving CC. Would Oswalt be a better choice for getting a SP back? Sanchez seems like he might be up and down, but is younger......

Let me know!

cano is going to be *very* good this year - but the starting pitcher you'd be getting back just doesn't make this the right deal for you.

I'd take the Cano side of the deal with Sanchez. Cano hitting fifth in that line up entering his peak seasons. Guy is mashing and he's historically a slow starter. I think Grey is right...he could hit .335 with 30 bombs.

Sanchez will give you K's and probably a few wins...may kill your WHIP from time to time but if he starts to get shaky you can park him for a bit given that your starting pitching looks solid.
