Rollins for Zobrist?

Postby breedlove99 » Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:35 am

Would you guys trade Rollins straight up for Zobrist right now? Zobrist is SS/2B/OF elig.

League is fairly shallow (Furcal, Alexei Ramirez, Desmond, Asdrubal are available) but I feel like those guys are a big step down from JRoll.

Does this make sense? I'm worried about Rollins not running when he gets back ...

I think you have to look if you have enough power at other positions. I would take Zobrist, unless I had two heavy bats at 1B and didn't really need it at MI.

I wouldn't be too sure that the Zobrist owner would trade for Rollins right now. I know that I sure wouldn't.

I've been offered the trade. The other guy has some depth at SS and is willing to wait out Rollins and give up Zobrist...

Here's my lineup

C - Jeff Clement
1B - Miggy Cabrera
2B - Figgins
SS - Rollins (Furcal)
3B - Ian Stewart
OF - Grady Sizemore
OF - Matt Kemp
OF - Nelson Cruz
Util - Josh Hamilton

Bench - Jay Bruce, Chris Davis, Colby Rasmus

So I don't really know what I need. Or rather, I don't need one thing so obviously over the other. What I needed was Rollins' balanced 22 Hr + 34 Sbs I guess.

What would you guys do here? Get by with Furcal and hope that Rollins is ok in 3-4 weeks? Or just go with Zobrist and his positional flexibility / batting slot in TB and roll with him?

i would not do it.

but i also believe that zobrist will be back to being a super utility guy without guaranteed at bats by the all star break. could be wrong, i just don't trust the guy.

especially in a league that shallow - its not like you have nothing on waivers to hold you over. go grab asdrubal or alexei and wait out the few weeks it takes for rollins to come back.

I'd roll the dice on waiting for Rollins.
