CarGo, Jenks for Nolasco, Lopez

Postby Brownie19 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:58 pm

Been offered Nolasco and J.Lopez for CarGo and Jenks.

I have been looking to deal a closer to upgrade my SPing, but I'm not sure about this one. I think my OF gets very thin without CarGo and while Jenks isn't great, he's one of the few proven closers I have.

But, I would have drafted Nolasco over CarGo and probably Lopez over Jenks...so I'm a little torn.

He does have Borbon, R.Davis & Gardner - who I could ask him to include (I'll throw in S.Smith or something) - which would help me fill the SB's that I lose with CarGo (although I'm not sure he'll steal a lot).

Thoughts?

I'd rather take Nolasco and either Borbon/Davis for CarGo and Jenks.

This solves your potential shortage of OFers and gives you the speed you need.

Interesting.

The other offers I have out there are

Hughes, Dotel & Lindstrom for B.Anderson, Doumit & Thornton (the guy has 0 closers)

Hughes, Jenks & Lindstrom for C.Lee, Soto and Coghlan (the guy has 0 closers)

Prefer upgrading the rotation and filling my empty catcher spot without moving CarGo if possible.....I assume you'd prefer those two deals than the original one I posted.....Probably see if they fly first.

I still like the Nolasco and speedster for CarGo/Jenks trade the best; followed by Hughes/Dotel/Lindstrom.

Bump....

Do I really need Nolasco enough to move Jenks and be stuck with a bunch of "iffy" closers?

Or Can F-Her, Hamels, Garza, Liriano and Matusz carry my staff without an upgrade?

Aren't jsut about all closers "iffy" closers? I don't know if I'd go putting Jenks into some type of special closer category.

Agree with Havok. An outfielder, even CarGo, is replaceable. Nolasco is the headliner here if you need a SP. The other ones aren't worth it.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice.

I guess the question is - do I need another starter? or is F-Her, Hamels, Garza, Liriano, Buchholz and Matusz enough?

I'd really prefer to dump all my iffy closers, go with Wagner & Jenks and use both Thornton and pick up S.Santos as high K, MR's.

i like the nolasco deal for you. cargo is a shiny new toy, but at the end of the season, there will be plenty of guys with his numbers. And ive always thought of wanting sure thing closers is just being lazy - and i wouldn't put jenks in that category by a far stretch. Maybe you wind up flipping lopez for a buy low outfielder if you feel thin there?
