Keeper Trade--- Is it worth it??

Postby KCC26 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 1:40 pm

My team is running away with the league (12 team mixed H2H) but its meaningless if I can't win the H2H playoffs. Anyway, we keep 6 players at the midpoint of their draft round from the previous year and the Yahoo ADP before the draft. Our trade deadline is approaching, and teams that have fallen out of contention are seeking out keepers for next year. Here's my team (along with the rounds that they were drafted/kept in this year)

C Napoli (8)
1B Encarnacion (9)
2b Hill (14)
3B Wright (1)
SS Tulowitzki (3)
INF Ortiz (7)
OF McCutchen (4)
OF Cuddyer (19)
OF BJ Upton (2)
OF Quentin (20)
OF E. Young (undrafted)
Ut: Smoak (undrafted)
DL: Kemp (2)

SP: Scherzer (5)
SP: Wainwright (11)
SP: Price (6)
SP: Bailey (14)
SP: Quintana (22)
SP: J. Fernandez (undrafted)
SP: I. Nova (undrafted)
SP: H. Santiago (undrafted)
RP: Kimbrel (6)
RP: Perkins (12)
RP: Uehara (24)
RP: Cishek (19)
RP: Ziegler (undrafted)

Right now, I'll keep Mccutchen, Encarnacion, Fernandez, Wainwright and then 2 of Tulowitzki, Ortiz, Cuddyer, Scherzer, Price

I've been offered this deal for Encarnacion (who will likely be a 6th round pick in our league next year):

Verlander (2) OR S. Miller (16) (also has keeper value)
Granderson (8)
B. Lawrie (5)

for Encarnacion

Obviously I can get a little bit better here by making such a deal, but my pitching has been the bets in the league and im afraid to take a downgrade in offense. Ive looked at maybe taking the deal and then trying to flip the pitcher for offense. What do you guys think? worth it? and if so, which pitcher? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't a good deal

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
