Looking to make offer for Harvey

I planning an offer for Matt Harvey.

The Harvey owner needs pitching and already has the likes of Zack Wheeler and Gerrit Cole stashed.

I was thinking about offering Gio and Medlen for Harvey...plus Rendon (Harvey owner owns Zimmerman) and Jim Henderson (I am not worried about finding saves throughout the season - can stash Rosenthal and/or Valverde for instance).

I could also probably get Pedroia if I threw in Kipnis and/or Profar.

How much is too much? I'm thinking Harvey has the tools to be a stud...I don't think he will maintain these numbers, it's impossible...whereas Gio and Medlen could only be almost-studs at bests...thoughts?

I think you are over-paying but I also not sure he accepts. I know that sounds contradictory but I think Gio and Medlen will have solid seasons and I agree that they probably aren't Ace type pitchers. More #2 than anything. But even 2 top 20 starters can be worth more than an Ace. But Harvey has been so good and if the owner needs pitching, why would he deal off one of the best guys he has.

This is the worst possible time to try to trade for Harvey... You pretty much never get a fair deal when you're buying extremely high.
I don't think you should make the offer. You're talking about trading two pretty MLB-proven pitchers, a closer, and a top hitting prospect for a guy with 14 MLB starts that have, granted, been amazing, but had an ERA over 3.30 in his two minor league seasons.
Harvey's clearly got the stuff, but he's bound to struggle at some point. Gio has had three straight high quality MLB seasons and Medlen has been dominant since becoming a starter. It seems like a lot to give up for one 24 year old.

I'll wait...I sent a feeler out to the Harvey owner without an offer...mentioned giving him some pitching and Rendon as a Zimmer handcuff...we'll see...I won't overpay...

...but you're right...Harvey can't pitch this well all season...maybe I'll make an offer after he visits Coors ;o)
