Chapman Trade

Postby raftman » Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:21 am

I had been mulling trading for Chapman for awhile, then Grey went ahead and ranked him 17 overall - so I decided to pull the trigger.

I ended up giving up Marco Estrada & Rymer Liriano for Aroldis Chapman.
Fair value?

I'm a bit concerned with Chapman's transition to SP and ability to be a legit starter (and his innings limit), but I think the risk is worth it in a 16 team H2H Dynasty League where pitching is really hard to come by.

But I could be wrong.
12 Team H2H Dynasty
c- Ramos
1b- Cabrera
2B- Kendrick
3B - Machado
SS - Bogaerts
OF - Harper, Heyward, Polanco
UT - Arenado
B - Prado, Craig, Belt, Segura
IR - Profar
Minors - McGuire, H. Renfroe, N. Gordon

SP - Cobb, DeGrom, Cole, Zimmerman, Gausman
RP - Allen, Doolittle
B - Benoit, Bailey, C. Martinez, S. Miller
Minors - Glasnow, Kingham, Wisler, K. Zimmer, C. Rodon, G. Holmes

Solid deal. I don't think you over-payed at all. Estrada is a solid SP but doesn't have the upside that Chapman has. It might end up blowing up in your face if Chapman gets hurt or something but Estrada could get hurt as well and you would have regretted not doing it.

If you gave up much more than this, I would have questioned it but I think this was a perfect trade for you.
