Cano on the Block....What to offer?

Postby B.J. » Tue Apr 26, 2011 12:12 pm

With Gordon Beckham as my starting 2B an with Utley on the DL, my 2B situation leaves a bit to be desired. The Robbie Cano owner put him on the block as well as Adam Dunn and Cole Hamels. I feel like Cano is a big piece that will substantially help my squad. His team isn't the strongest in the league but he must think that moving Cano will help his team. Anyways, help me come up with an offer to get Cano and possibly Hamels (or is that being too greedy). He has said that he likes Weaver a lot and I'm not afraid to move an arm for a big impact bat.

His roster
C- Hundley 1B- Dunn 2B- Cano SS- Jeter 3B- Bautista
OF- T. Hunter, Pierre, Swisher UTIL- Francouer
Bench- J. Bay, Kendrick

SP- Hamels, Verlander RP- Street, Narveson
P- Kuroda, Madson, Jurrjens
Bench- Lohse, Arroyo, Britton, J. Tomlin
DL- Mauer, N. Feliz

My team is in my sig. As I mentioned I'm willing to move any of my arms for Cano and to a certain extent most of my bats, the only bat not available is Miguel Cabrera and even then I might be willing to let him go but I'd like not to.

What should my starting offer be and do I have the pieces to make this move
10 Team Yahoo H2H

C- Posada 1B- Miggy C 2B- Beckham 3B- Zimmerman SS- A. Ramirez
OF- J. Upton, McCutchen, G. Sizemore UTIL- Fielder
SP- Hanson, J. Weaver RP- Marmol, Hanrahan
P- B. Anderson, T. Lilly, R. Nolasco

Bench- J. Bruce, M. Pineda, R. Romero, Capps, A. Gordon, J. Zimmermann
DL- Greinke, Utley

I'd try Cano/Hamels for Weaver/Beckham and see what he counters with. Maybe he is really big on Weaver. If he thinks this streak he is on will continue he might bite.

I wouldn't even consider Beckham in the trade. He's too ugly right now to even be considered. I would offer Utley/Weaver for Cano (who was likely his #1 pick)....I think trying to get Hamels too would be a little too greedy, but this is Fantasy Baseball after all! I think he would take the offer I proposed pretty quickly if he has any faith at all in Utley (I sure don't and I don't think Grey does neither), so I would try this trade.

On another note, I would try to move Grady Sizemore, the ticking time bomb, and maybe a pitcher or another bat to buy low on Adam Dunn before he come around. I think if you make the right offer, you could be getting a bargain.

Yeah, definitely include Utley so he thinks he's going to have a big time second baseman down the stretch (when in reality Chase is a big Question Mark). I like Utley/Weaver for Cano, see if he bites.
I like sports with balls in them.
