Keeper Trade

Postby amscalone » Wed Jul 14, 2010 3:51 pm

I'm 50 games out of first in a 10 team h2h 7 player keeper league (not the team in the sig).

My locks to be kept are:

Andrus (4th round - can be kept 3 more years)
CarGo (9th round - can be kept 3 more years)
Lincecum (14th round - last year he can be kept)
Longoria (15th round - last year he can be kept)
J. Upton (16th round - can be kept 2 more years)
Jimenez (25th round - can be kept 2 more years)

I don't have another solid keeper spot (I refuse to keep more than 2 pitchers) - I'm not all that sold on Andrus in the 4th to begin with. Here's the offer on the table from a team trying to win this year:

I give Tex (1st round), Latos (13th round), Romero (13th round) and I GET Votto (6th round for two more years).

No one else wants to give me anything of value for latos or romero, so I know I'm giving up a lot, but to have Votto in the 6th for two years rather than Tex in the 1st for 1 its worth it no? Should I ask him to toss in a draft pick?

Thanks Grey. Thanks to anyone else who responds.

I would rather keep Latos in the 13th instead of Andrus in the 4th.

But to answer your question, if you are out of it already then getting solid keepers should be your priority and Votto in the 6th definitely qualifies. I'd go for it if you think it is the best you can do.

Yes, Latos over Andrus.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Latos in the 13th over Andrus in the 4th.

I love Votto in the 6th. Can you make the deal without Latos if you include Andrus instead?

Latos was the conversation starter for him, and unless anyone thinks Latos in the 13th is better than lincecum in the 14th or jimenez in the 25th, I'm set with my pitching keepers. The 2:5 SP:hitter ratio is pretty much gospel for me.

Is Latos a top 10 pitcher next year?
