1st pick next season

Grey -- Thanks for another year of world-class FBB punditry, along with a lotta laughs. I won my ESPN H2H money league for the 3rd time in 4 seasons, mainly because it's obvious nobody else in the league knows exists. And in my first try at RCL, I took home that trophy with 104 points (presumably everybody in that league reads the site so I'll take partial credit there).

Question is regarding next year's H2H draft (12 teamer w/OPS, QS). This is the first season we've had keepers. Two per team. I've never drafted a P in the first round since Halladay in 2011 and we know how that turned out. The earliest I've grabbed a starter since is week 4. Starters are like gold in this league -- 3 went in the first round this season -- and I've always taken your advice regarding starters. But: Considering my keepers are Trout and Harper, who I'm thinking will both be top 5 next season (at least), would you use a first round pick on Kershaw if available? Or would you still rather have, say, Goldschmidt or Donaldson?

tl;dr: would two guaranteed high-first-round keeper bats alter your "don't draft stud SPs high, plenty of good arms available later" philosophy?

Just planning ahead. Again, thanks for all the great advice. I stay up late most nights just to check in at 12:05 Pacific. Cuts into my work schedule, but hey, priorities.

Considering Kershaw went with the 5th overall pick this season, he's not likely to be around by round 3.

I'll drive off that bridge when I come to it. Enjoy your offseason!
