Need Keeper Advice

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Need Keeper Advice

Postby irishbeermen » Sat Oct 12, 2013 10:19 am

Grey, every year at this time I log in to the forum, get your advice, and rest easy through the long cold winter. This year is no different.
16 Team 6x6 Mixed League (OBP + Holds). We keep 8 plus 1 ex-rookie* (who does not make the top 3 in either league for Rookie of the Year)
1B David Ortiz (BOS)
2B/SS Everth Cabrera (SD)
3B Josh Donaldson (OAK)
SS Hanley Ramirez (LAD)
LF Dom Brown (PHL)
CF Adam Jones (BAL)
UTIL Jacoby Ellsbury (CF)

SP Clayton Kershaw (LAD)
SP Justin Verlander (DET)
RP Trevor Rosenthal (STL)* (Just about perfect mix of goodness with low probability of getting top 3 votes for ROY) Only guy I have who qualifies for the extra keeper.

So ... of those 10 guys -- I have to part with one.

I just completed a trade Prince Fielder, Wilin Rosario and Allen Craig for Adam Jones and Oscar Taveras and Kyle Zimmer. Overpay I know -- but then I was three over on quality keepers. Now I am down to one over.
I also have a number of lower-level keeper guys like Chase Utley, Torii Hunter, Joe Nathan, and Brandon Beachy.

We have an extensive minor league roster. I sell out mine every year to stack my MLB roster.

Do I package two of my hitters like Dom Brown and Everth Cabrera and go for someone like Robinson Cano?
Or do I give up Everth Cabrera and go for a Taijuan Walker who I can still put down in the minors?
As always, THANKS! Jack

I'd Cano or Walker there in a second...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
