How'd I Do?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

How'd I Do?

Postby kevo252 » Mon Mar 25, 2013 7:05 am

Completed a draft las night. My team is listed below, got most of the players I was targeting. Definitely drafted Motte too early (didn't know he was injured), but I was able to get Boggs late. I will also be able to pick up two players once Hanley and Motte get DLd. Let me know how you think I did.

C- Jesus Montero
1B- Prince
2B- Hill
3B- Middlebrooks
SS- A. Escobar
OF- J. Upton
OF- A. Jones
OF- Fraier
Util.- Encarnacion
Bench- Gomez
DL- Hanley

SP- Gio
SP- Latos
SP- Moore
SP- Neise
SP- Minor
RP- Boggs
RP- Grilli
Bench- Kuroda
Bench- Fiers
DL- Motte

Seems pretty solid. My biggest worry would be Middlebrooks at 3B. Just not sold on him being a solid option all year.

Yeah I hear you, I waited pretty late to grab a 3B as I missed out on the top guys. Middlebrooks was great in about a half season of at bats last year. If he can't do the job, I hedged that pick with Frazier. Hopefully between the two of them, one becomes an above average fantasy 3B.

Looks pretty solid overall, but a bit weak on speed. You might be able to cobble enough SBs together if you get ABs for Escobar and Gomez, but are you going to bench your other players (once Hanley gets back) to do so?

Also, you'll have to be active on the waiver wire for closer replacements, with only two sources of saves on your roster in an 11-team league. Most teams in your league will have 3 closers, and some might even have 4, so you'll be playing catch-up.
