JJ Hardy or Brian Roberts

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

JJ Hardy or Brian Roberts

Postby dasaucemasta » Tue Mar 19, 2013 11:27 pm

Im in a 14 team mixed league. I drafted Rutledge for 2b and Hardy for SS. Team is in my signnature. Brian Roberts is a FA obviously and hes been tearing the cover off the ball this spring. I dont really want to drop anyone but Hardy. Would it be worth dropping Hardy and adding Roberts to play 2b and Rutledge at SS or am I nuts? A healthy Roberts leading off for the Os should put up better overall numbers than Hardy. Thoughts?

Roberts has a number of issues with the biggest one being health. He hasn't played 60 games in the past three years. So no I wouldn't drop Hardy for him. While Hardy isn't a sure thing, he has been a fairly steady guy. Pencil him in for 25 HR and 80 Runs and I don't see what Roberts could do that would be better than Hardy.

Biggest thing Roberts ever did was steal bases. He's at the end of his career and is nothing more than nothing. Hardy will give you 70/15/70 as his floor.
