Our keeper league divides keepers into three tiers. We can keep 3 players from each tier. Each tier is based retroactively on last season's keepers/draft. It's a fairly standard 12-team Yahoo 6x6 H2H league that uses OPS & Holds and includes 1-each infield position, 3 OFs, 1 Catcher, 1 Utility spot, 2 SPs, 2 RPs and 4 Ps plus 6 bench.
My Tier 1 Keeper eligibles: 3B Cabrera, 3B Beltre, 2B Phillips, SP Cain, SP Bumgarner
I can only keep 3 of the 5 players above in Tier 1.
Do I keep both 3Bs, then put Beltre in my Utility spot and possibly offer him for trades? If I don't hold Beltre, should I take both pitchers? I like Bumgarner's age/keeper upside but 2 pitchers in my first tier seems -EV with these options. Probably overthinking this.
If helpful, my 6 other keepers from Tiers 2 & 3 will likely be:
Mariano Rivera, Darvish, Trout, Cespedes, Goldschmidt & either Morrow or Harvey (Morrow, right?)
12-team 6x6 keeper league question
Re: 12-team 6x6 keeper league question
I would be keeping the three best players regardless of position. So Cabrera and Beltre are easy keeps IMO. The last one comes down to Cain or Bumgarner. I could go either way myself but I would probably lean towards Bumgarner.
