time to tidy my pitching staff?

After trading Hamels, I'm left with Volquez, Lilly, Sanchez, Wolf, Oswalt and Parra. On waivers, Slowey and Liriano are still available. So some switching?

Ryan Howard offered!!

I threw a line out there at the Howard owner. I tossed Ellsbury, Volquez, O. Hudson and Helton for Big Ryan. I didn't get a flat out "declined" but rather a note that he would "prefer" Hamels to Volquez (no duh). The counter offer is Howard, Iwamura and Parra for Hamels, Ellsbury and O-Dog. How clos...

Re: Middle Relievers

@Steve/BSU

FOrgot to mention, holds have no value in my league. And K's are the least important for me with my huge lead. Wins/S's most important. Saying that Bucholz>Bell>Broxton?

Funny Harang is mentioned. I offered Quentin for him and was rejected without a counter proposal. Meh..

A series vs. the Nats...thinking of spot starting 3 Orioles

They've got 6 wins in June inlcuding a sweep of Seattle. Baltimore has 3 OK starters lined up in Cabrera, Olson and Guthrie. I'm thinking I might get 3 quick W's. Washington is at home though. Or, I could target SF on the road in Cleveland and Oakland and use Laffey and Eveland over a couple of nigh...

Middle Relievers

Leading in W's, ERA, WHIP and K's but 8/11 in S's. I've got room for a reliever and there are no closers I can find anywhere. I've got Ryan, Putz and Morrow. I'm now thinking of finding a kick-ass Middle Reliever to help my WHIP, K's and ERA. The big name I was looking for, Carlos Marmol, is gone. O...

Performance review

Looking for objective opinions on my 2008 trading record. 1. In-(RP) JJ Putz Out-(3B) Mike Lowell When- Mid April Why-Had "punted" saves and was looking to deal depth for a bonafide closer. Was dead last in saves and had A-Rod at 3B and dependable Pronk/Helton/Butler to play 1B and CI. Was offered H...

Re: Middling Infieldaholic

Yeah, I think we agree more than we disagree here. Hudson a replaceable piece and not even comparable to JR, but Jimmy Rollins may be very overrated when compared to other first rounders.

Re: Catchers

@Grey: Drop Olivo for him? This is Jeff Clement, that is hitting .160? Fuck, I think I might pick up Shroeder from the Peanuts. Anyway, I checked him out and there's a great line in his scouting report that sums up the Mariners. (paraphrasing)"Clement calls a good game. He'll catch more than he has....

Re: Middling Infieldaholic

Scary thing is I was just considering that option.

Hudson vs. Rollins:
.300 vs. .289
7 HR vs. 6 HR
34 RBI vs. 25 RBI
32 Runs vs. 33 Runs
2 SB vs 14 SB

Is speed that important? Turn Rollins/Helton into Ryan Howard. Aren't I better off? What do expect from JR from here on out?
