Re: headley vs granderson

Headley's OBP only looks good because his average is so high. Granderson can be expected to give you 25/25 with 100 runs and 80 RBI. Plus, I would guess he would have the higher OPS.

But then again, I'm not a real doctor.

Re: Is Vazquez on the Igawa Train of Much Regret?

If Vazquez goes on the DL or to AAA, they will probably slide the Meat-train into the rotation.

I'd say they might take a peek at Alan Horne, but he's on the DL all year. Jeremy Bleich could make a spot start. Or maybe they will bring up Kei Zone, as he is sporting a hefty 5.40 ERA.

Olivo for Pudge?

I drafted Montero, who started hot and then promptly took a trip to the DL. I picked up Ivan Rodriguez and have been happy with his batting average, but I can't see him hitting more than 10 home runs (or maybe not even more than 5), and I expect a dip in his BA. Olivo is available on waivers, is a g...

Re: Mike Gonzalez to DL

Jim Johnson's line tonight -

2.0 IP, 1 W (so far, so good), 2K (not bad), 9.00 ERA, 2.50 (dear God, no)

Re: How should I try to improve my team?

Re: Max Scherzer A K/9 of 5.29, nearly 80% of men left on, an ERA of 2.12, a FIP of 4.62… You haven’t escaped, you’re dragging your feet on the inevitable. A’la Ray Walston in Robert Altman’s Popeye, “Your pappy was a dragger and you’re a dragger.” I'd see if I could trade him for an upgrade at 2nd ...

Re: Kyle Blanks

I have Blanks and Reimold stashed away in one of my leagues because I have dreams about them breaking out and hitting 30 homers each, much like I have dreams of some hot Russian brunette with a deep checking account taking me away on her yacht. I think the brunette scenario is more likely to play out.

Re: Justin Masterson/Slowey

I'm thinking of dropping him, too, as he's placed two steaming turds on my match up this week. Unfortunately, I'm in a deep, smart league, so there's not a lot sitting on waivers. Here are some options: Justin Vargas, Colby Lewis, Chris Young the Taller, Mat Latos, Ian Kennedy. Any suggestions? I'm ...
