Re: Drafting pitchers early!

"Light in average", Bourn? He has no average. He may set a league record for lowest team BA in history with that first team! :) Obviously your starting pitching is balls to the wall. But I think you might even be overestimating the ability of your offense to compete. Hardy and Crisp are big injury r...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:

Obviously disagree with your last sentence but I'm with you on KC as well. :) Actually think Jonathan Sanchez joins Hochevar in having a useful season and I have as the deepest of sleepers in my 30 player roster league a guy in the mould of Filthy Sanchez: Felipe Paulino. He could easily take you t...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:

I think the red sox because somehow 4 letters thinks they will be 4th in the al east. I don't know how anyone will beat the angels though. Seriously like 110+ wins and unbeatable in a series I'm thinkin' the Red Sox finish 3rd (again) in the AL East, especially if they don't acquire Oswalt. They di...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:

I think the Mariners are team to keep an eye on offensively. That is not to say we're going to see breakout superstars coming out of Seattle given the talent and the park, but I like the fact that they have eliminated a lot of the black holes out of their line up. They had so many automatic outs th...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:

Agree with others in here that the Giants are the favorite in the West. Panda and Posey for full seasons will solve a lot of their offensive woes. All that said, they're not without their flaws. Their top 3 pitchers are easily the best in the division (and probably second, to the Phillies, in baseba...

Re: Questions re: Strasburg, Harper and the Nationals

No doubt a factor. But they could have offered more money for shorter duration if they really wanted to push. And with the other considerations percolating in the background (youth of team, Stras IP limit, etc.) it makes some sense to me that they'd be less eager to go all-in for a playoff push thi...

Re: Questions re: Strasburg, Harper and the Nationals

Not getting Prince Fielder is key to my thoughts. Since they let him get away, I'm thinking that they aren't serious about making a playoff push. Or it could be that they just didn't want to overpay for a rotund, defensively-challenged first baseman whose 10-year contract could be about 5 years too...

Re: Questions re: Strasburg, Harper and the Nationals

But as a budding Nats fan (finally giving up my lifelong affair with the Republicans of baseball... yes... I'm disavowing the Yankees and apologizing to everyone except that special breed of bastards, the Red Sox fans) , I'm wondering what we'll see from Harper and Strasburg this year. Well, at lea...

Re: ESPN vs Yahoo!

to be honest, CBS commissioner is the best. But it costs the moola.
Yeah. I use CBS for my main league and I like it the best (and I've used Yahoo and ESPN as well). It does cost money, but it's a bit easier to handle if your league entry fee is large enough.
