Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

1. Thanks for the nudge. Tejada is out. Bartlett slides to SS. Velez goes into Bartlett's vacated MI spot. 2. I am not trusting Mi. Cabrera to play today, so I dropped Motte (who was on the bench for today anyway) for Maybin (hoping for even more steals). Braun slides into Mi. Cabrera's 3B spot. Lon...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

Ok, report time, update for Monday, September 23. Today was a real bummer. Not in terms of overall movement in the scores, but rather in terms of lost opportunity. If I end up losing at the end of this week, there will be many moments that I can point to as the "turning point" and one of them will b...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

The Tigers are not playing Mi. Cabrera tonight. Booo! The opposing team has now picked up Litsch and Wakefield for tomorrow and Scherzer for Wednesday. It really is too bad that he is not panicking and picking up a timebomb to use for tomorrow instead of Scherzer. But forcing him to hold onto player...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

If anyone is following this thread for H2H insights, rather than just my artful prose, please consider whether any TB or Bal players are available to be picked up for tomorrow's double-header. Jason Bartlett might be worth picking up if B.J. Upton does not play on Tuesday at all. Salazar could also ...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

I am considerably annoyed with myself at the moment. With the FLA/CIN game at 1:10, you would think that I would check to make sure that Amezaga were playing today since he is on my roster, right? Wrong. I totally forgot that I had picked him up so it did not even occur to me to check. Dumb, dumb, d...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

PS I hope Saito's loss tonight means that the Dodgers think twice about replacing Broxton at the closer role. It's noteworthy that Broxton was used before Saito tonight.

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

Update for Sunday night, September 21 (though it is technically already September 22 on the east coast). The score stands at 6-4, with me losing. I'm not sure what to say. On the one hand, I've found furiously to get back into contention after a disastrous beginning. On the other hand, if the finals...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

Roster change mission accomplished. Dropped: Baek, Lewis, O. Perez, Moyer, Velez and Sandoval. Added: Shealy, G. Anderson, Teahan, Soto, Amezaga and Happ. 1. Not so excited about Happ or any other options for Monday (which include G. Smith, Millwood, Marquis, Miner, Rowland-Smith, Z. Jackson, Bass a...

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

Digging a bit deeper, Baek, Lewis, Volstad and Sonnanstine all have roughly the same xFIP - ~4.50. I realize that the sample sizes are completely different and in some cases unrealiable of course.

Re: Lolhamburger H2H Playoff Thread

Reporting in for Sunday, September 21, 2008. Last day of the first week of the finals. Rough week for me, as those reading here know. But at least the trend is finally starting to turn. Hopefully, that will continue. The score after the end of last night is 6-4, with me still losing, but not as badl...
