Re: Price v. Shields

Yeah, I think you've got to go w/ Shields. David Price has pitched <20 innings in the bigs - and all in relief. IF (that's a big "if", not "infield") he stays on track, health and performance-wise, how long will it be before he is making 30 starts? 2 years? Pujols, Utley, Wright ...

Re: Help picking the last one

Ha! Well, I'm pleased to announce that I was tantalized by upside and youth, and went w/ Morrow... because today: The Seattle Times reports that Brandon Morrow "has been shut down indefinitely" after cutting a bullpen session short Tuesday due to continued forearm soreness. His status for ...

Help picking the last one

It's a 12 team, h2h (5x5) keeper league. We keep 9 (no restrictions) each year. I could use a little additional perspective as I pick the last one... I've reded the ones I already know I'm keeping: Brian McCann Albert Pujols Jose Lopez Miguel Cabrera Rafael Furcal Ryan Braun Nelson Cruz Curtis Grand...

Scott Baker

I'm feeling conflicted about Scott Baker's value. See, while Grey is a renowned K-whore... I'm a bit of a slut for control pitchers (though Baker had a very respectable 7.4 K/9 last year). Now, unlike certain large, fantasy baseball sites who shall remain nameless (starts w/ "roto"), I don...

Adam Dunn to the Nats

I'm seeing reports that the Nationals have signed Dunn to a 2 year deal. I don't think playing in Washington will stop Dunn from hitting home runs or striking out. But what does this do to the Washington OF? As I recall, they already have Milledge, Dukes and Willingham. Also Kearns on the bench, I b...

Don't be so hard on yourself; Delmon's a lock for 10 HR and 10 SB.

Re: Which 2 or 3 keepers?

I'd go w/ Davis and McCann.

I know, here at Razzball forums, we all pretty much toe the company line re: not over-valuing top-tier catchers. But, in this case, McCann could very well have comparable (or, gasp, better) numbers in 2009 than Downhill Atkins. That he plays catcher is just a bonus.

Ahem... I hope I don't see Delmon Young and his 10 HR in the top 17 on that list.

Re: 12th pick in 5x5 roto draft

There are 13 owners, so I have pick, bookends, then pick again. Great site BTW--just stumbled upon it. I think Rollins, Tex, Howard, Kinsler will be there. Who to draft first? Leaning toward Rollins, but would love to get input. If I take Rollins and bookend takes 1Bs, is Kinsler a good play to set...
