Every year we as fantasy baseball players are faced with a reality that flies directly in the face of all we’ve come to know about a player. Last year it was Tommy Pham, Robbie Ray, and others. This year we’re faced with the question is Jordan Lyles good now? In the opening of this week’s Razzball Podcast Grey and I dig in on Lyles, and what has changed. We then look at the other side of the coin, and breakdown some of Paul Goldschmidt’s struggles, and what’s driving them. We then talk Juan Soto’s callup, wish for Vlad to get the call, and discuss the Alex Reyes update. The rest of the show is dedicated to hot schmotatos, and players to watch. Don’t worry we start the show off with the “solution” to Grey’s ongoing eye issues. Finally, please make sure to support our sponsor by heading over to RotoWear.com and entering promo code “SAGNOF” for 20% off the highest quality t-shirts in the fantasy sports game. Ralph,
What is your opinion of the Mets 2B Jeff McNeil (26)?
In following Alonso I have seen him on FUEGO !!! of late. He just passed Alonso with 12 HRs.

I know you have been following Vlade Jr., so you must have noticed him, with afew clutch hits in that series.
The thing that stands out is that he is 26. He hits for average, for power and has OBP over 400.

    What say you?

@jose: Honestly I was taking the numbers with a grain of salt, because he’s 26 at AA. That said, digging deeper I’m shocked he never hit for power before. I’m guessing based on some knowledge of his current swing plus his batted ball profile on Fangraphs, it looks like he is a swing change guy. Kind of interesting but, I’d need to see him against MLB pitching. Not sure AAA teaches us anything with a player like this.

Ralph, out of these players, what would be a fair offer and who would you offer for Jose Ramirez in a dynasty league: Acuna, Benintedi, Springer, Soto, Puig, O’Neil, Robles, K. Davis? As always, thanks for your expertise.

@David: Benintendi? You could try something like K Davis and Robles.

    Hello Ralph!

Who do you like more from the players that are going to be drafted in this year draft: a pitcher (Brady Singer, Case Mize, Carter Stewart, Matthew Liberatore etc) or a batter? (Bart, Bohm, Madrigal, India or Gorman etc)?

I just traded up to #2 in an Amat draft and looking to get the best player available. Pitcher would be even better.

    Thanks!

@mihai: Bat. I like Bohm, Mize, Madrigal, India, Gorman.

Mize is awesome, but I lean bat over arm. College over high school.

@Ralph Lifshitz: Now if Victor Victor or Julio Pablo Martinez are available, they should be ranked 1 and 2.

  5. Adames is up! Worth dumping vets like Tim Anderson and Cozart for this rook?
    Appreciate your work, Ralph. Thanks!

Thanks for your and all you do!

hey man love your work. If I had some ‘bigger’ questions about my dynasty squad, is there any way i could like email you for some ideas on my roster rather than doing it via comments section? I kinda wanna be like, “here’s my squad, how could I maximize it with some trades?” It wouldn’t be transactional, I would like to learn how to valuate players in this format.

Also I don’t want other jabroni’s in my league to see my discourse with you and get trolled.

i mean if that’s cool to do in a comments section right on, always down for feedback.
