Well, if you’re reading this it means one of two things.  You are still alive in the playoffs or you’re just bored and addicted to this site.  There is no wrong answer here.  So take a gander at this week’s lower end lesser owned two start options.  Some may tickle the fancy like a nice Polynesian feather duster.  Some may turn your stomachs like too much fruit cake.  It’s the playoffs, I will usually go with quantity over small quality anyday, but hey, that’s just me.  Good luck this week.  (pitchers an match-ups may change.)

Alex Cobb (Bos vs Cook, Tor vs Morrow) I’ll buy that for a dollar, but right after I get back from Spatula city. He failed to get out of the 5th twice in his last 3 starts and has eclipsed his career high in innings, so the concern may be there.  Based on match-ups as they are right now, you could do worse.

Miguel Gonzalez (@Sea vs Millwood, @Bos vs Doubront) Hot team is good enough for Grady, and if it’s good enough for Grady, then it’s good enough for me.  No, not you Sizemore, you are useless to me.  ERA is a run and a half lower away from the crab cakes.

A.J. Griffin (@Det vs Scherzer, @NYY vs Pettitte) Despite the tough line-ups I still like it.  Road ERA is better than at the spacious O.co.  I once saw a griffin, it was at burning man as I ate some delicious peyote soup.  Solid starts here and his stock, which is climbing, will be on the horizon next year for 5-6th SP sleeper type stuff.

Marco Estrada (@Pit vs Burnett, @Was vs Zimmermann) It’s funny no one ever remembers Ponch’s partner, and prolly with good reason.  It’s prolly in the same regard that everyone knows who Chico was and the man is left in limbo.  Larry Wilcox, this is your shout out, btw.  Has allowed a total of 5 ER in his last 30 innings pitched, grab a calculator, lazy.

Aaron Harang (@Was vs Zimmermann, @Cin vs Leake) All that offensive firepower that they have and they are the lowest scoring team in the NL over the last 15 games. That alone screams no, take out the garbage and thank you.

Jhoulys Chacin (@SF vs Bumgarner, Ari vs Corbin) Would you rather buy 75 ring tosses at the carnival or watch a schmo from Colorado be on your fantasy roster.  Besides the allure that he was a sleeper and some K potential, do you really wanna?  The prize in the ring toss is a Hall and Oates tour t-shirt circa 1984, if that helps sway your decision.

Travis Wood (Pit vs Correia, StL vs Wainwright) Last two have been better, albeit one against the Ass-tro’s the other against the handicapped-eligible Pirates O.  If team had anything that resembled a line-up I would look here, but instead I will stare at that guy in the mirror, man is he handsome.

Hector Santiago (@KC vs Hochevar, @LAA vs Santana) I love this guy, for 2 reasons.  First, he has bounced around from reliever to starter on a first place team that still sees enough talent in him that he is useful.  Second he is from dirty Jerz.  Still getting stretched out, but I like what I have seen.

Mike Leake (@CHC vs Germano, LAD vs Harang) I like the idea he is on a first place team; I hate to see the results afterward.  Is way too hittable as he is too much around the plate (only 36 walks in 167 innings) and doesn’t have the secondary stuff that a K pitcher needs to be successful.  ERA better on the road and the Dodgers couldn’t score with NPH as their wingman.

Kevin Correia (@CHC vs Wood, @Hou vs Keuchel) If he K’d more we would Kare more.  He has been bounced around as the utility guy out of the ‘pen.  Two starts into his reinsertion and results seem ok. Matchup wise it doesn’t get much better, have faith, push add, though it looks weird him being on a roster and all.

It’s OK Jack Albertson – I remember you.
