It’s that time of the week again, you know time to tune into Halp and Ralph, and get your prospect plug in. This week we dive into some of the top performances of the last week in the minors. We talk a little Moncada, a little Hader, of course some Harrison Bader, and a few low minors bats with big upside. We start the show off talking about our many powerful political affiliations that have been cultivated through out extensive prospect knowledge. Seriously, Halph is power-brokering like you read about. Hell, I’ve been to at least 7 secret meetings in the last week. Often they’re disguised as poker games, but as Ice Tea says, this ain’t no poker game. Amirite Noisewater? It’s the latest edition of the Razzball prospect podcast.

    Morning Halph,

Haven’t had chance to listen to the podcast yet, am avoiding the gym this weekend !! Think an Easter egg hunt is enough exercise ? Finished the last podcast at the gym yesterday !

Interested to hear your thoughts on Winker and Tapia. Both called up, suggestions are that in both cases it’s for a short time. Can they force their way in to every day contention ? I am holding them in a couple of leagues with NA spots.

    Best wishes,

    Dan

@Another Dan: Dan my man! I hear ya, I’m on vacation down in Florida, so I haven’t hit the gym since Wednesday.

Tapia is probably a short term thing for sure. Parra’s on paternity leave, so there’s little hope he sticks around past say Tuesday.

Winker on the other hand could force his way into the picture with a good showing. He’ll be a solid addition in OBP formats, and should help BA in 5×5.

Judge, Haniger, Thames: Need to drop one. Thx.

    • thatguy says:
      (link)

@eric: I think Haniger is the clear best of this bunch. You get the nice AVG, OBP, SLG, speed package. Doesn’t hurt you anywhere and helps you everywhere.

Between Judge and Thames, assuming this is not any kind of a keeper/dynasty, I think it comes down to your needs. At the end of the day, I think Thames puts up less power, but better AVG OBP numbers than Judge, but Judge delivers more power. If you need a safer, more balanced profile, go Thames. If it is a keeper or dynasty that changes everything and I say keep Judge.

      • eric says:
        (link)

        @thatguy:

Helpful analysis thatguy. Its a straight Yahoo league. Will hold Haniger and pick up Thames. All hitters:

        C d’Arnaud
        1B Freeman
        2B Gordon
        3B Lamb
        SS Seager
        OF Cespedes
        OF Springer
        OF Haniger
        U C Seager
        U Solarte
        B Judge
        DL Dahl

One other possibility is to drop Solarte instead of Judge for Thames. Thoughts.

        • Ralph Lifshitz

          Ralph Lifshitz says:
          (link)

@eric: I say drop Judge, I think Thames is a better bet to play everyday, and might have a higher floor at ththe moment. It’s very close though. I’d hold on Solarte, if only for the versatility when your regular starters have an off day.

  3. I have a few pitchers in a deep 14 team league. Rotor with W,L,QS,Ks,BB,ERA,WHIP,HOLDS, SAVES, BLOWN SAVES. yes I know it’s ridiculous amount of stats anyway I have been interested in Archie Bradley for helping with Era whip plus Ks. And an occasional hold who on this list if any would you drop assuming it will be the bottom 3 or 4
    Yu Darvish
    Carrasco
    L. McCullers
    Greinke
    N. Feliz
    Pomeranz
    V. Velazquez
    Bauer
    B. Macathry
    T. Glassnow

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Dnut Eastwood: Yeah, if it’s not a dynasty of any sort I’d drop Glasnow.

      • @Ralph Lifshitz: thanks Ralph that’s where I was leaning. On that note would you hold on Velazquez and Bauer, or ditch them to open up room for streaming.

        • @Dnut Eastwood: here is our league stats. Give me your thoughts.

R, Hits, AVG, HRS, RBI, SB, BB, Ks,
          Total Bases, OPS

QS, W, L, ERA, WHIP, Ks, BB, HOLDS, SAVES, BLOWN SAVES

I think the offensive stats are redundant but solid group of guys and this is our 8th Year playing

          • Ralph Lifshitz

            Ralph Lifshitz says:
            (link)

@Dnut Eastwood: That league is super power hitting slanted. I’d probably just focus hard on OPS and watch the rest fall into place.

I’d probably go more starter heavy than usual and wouldn’t be overly concerned with closers.

        • Ralph Lifshitz

          Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Dnut Eastwood: I’d hold on V2, he’ll have his ups and downs. Bayern is the most scientific player in baseball (his words not mine). He’s also a huge douchebag, so feel free to stream him. I’m not a big Bauer believer.

  6. Chris says:

    Hello Ralph,

    Good morning.

What do you think of this trade:

    14 team, 7 keeper
    Give: Quintana
    Get: McCutchen

    12 team, 3 keeper
Should I try to offer Duffy for Kluber and see if the owner bites?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Chris: I’m not a big Cutch believer at this point. That said Quintana is a good deal for you. I wouldn’t move Duffy or Kluber.

  7. Johnc says:

My VMart, Melky and Pujols for his Polanco and Kermaier.. My OF is weak and I like steals help here.
I have Rizzo, Seager and Freeman at the corners. Lamb as my Utility. Thoughts on this trade. Also, would you rather keep Pujols or Lamb for ROS? Pujols off to his usual slow April. Maybe Lamb has more trade appeal?

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Johnc: I like that deal, and would prefer keeping Lamb at this point. Good deal for you.

  8. PHIL says:

@PHIL: Garrett and Triggs for me.

  9. Oppo Taco says:

Moncada/G Cole/Buxton for Arenado. Which side do you prefer? It’s a keeper league. We Keep 8 with no restrictions. Thanks!

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Oppo Taco: Still like Arenado, lot of talent on the other side, but Nolan gives you elite production.

im looking for one stream starter who i will immediately drop afterwards just due to injuries on my team. h2h points league
    chose 2

    triggs vs tex
    leake vs pit
    kuhl @stl
    eduardo rodriguez @ tor
    gsellman vs phi
    martin perez @oak

i think triggs is probably my best option but i need to stream 2 of these guys and just wanted your opinion. also feel free to recommend somone i may have missed..preferably earlier in the week

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@paul v: I wouldn’t be too shook from the Miami drubbing, and give Gsellman another roll of the dice. Leaks vs Pittsburgh is my #2, and Triggs 3.

So how high in the top 100 do you think Juan Soto will be end of year? He is absolutely RAKING so far

    • Ralph Lifshitz

@claw dog: Tough to say, he could crack the top 50.

  13. Sport says:

Thanks to all your work, I’m becoming highly addictive to my dynasty league. I have always been a traditional redraft guru but I’m really enjoying my first time in dynasty. So thank you for the indepth looks and feedbacks!

How Michael of a must is to add Severino in a dynasty league off waivers? And how long should I hold Fowler if he is my first bench OF?

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Sport: I’d hold Fowler for a while. He’s too good to drop after a couple of rough weeks.

I mean not sold on Severino, I watched every pitch of that start on Thursday. The strike zone wasn’t huge and he wasn’t facing the Rays on the road. They strikeout vs RHP more than anyone. You starting him vs the Red Sox, Blue Jays, and O’s?

  14. Steve says:
    (link)

    Hey Ralph,

When do you expect Torres to get the call? Who’s his comp playing right now? Just curious if I should burn a bench spot on him or Meadows. 14 team keeper 7×7 and don’t have a solid MI.

    Thanks

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Steve: I’d burn it on Meadows. Torres is maybe a September guy unless there’s a string of injuries. Maybe Correa?

  15. Brett says:

    Ralph,

When do you see Urias coming up?

  16. Whitney Cox says:

Dude, you`re awesome! The past 18 months you have helped claim some great talent before most of my league was aware. It`s not one particular post, it`s all of them! Please keep up the great work. Mille Garcia!
