I’ve watched him a few times last season and think he’s a Billy Butler type Project with less pop.I’d love to see him succeed in KC, but I think if we could use him for as a trade piece for a solid #1 or #2 Starter I’d pull the trigger on that route and try to keep this core of bats together thats in the big leagues right now.

Perez behind the plate a full season will be a huge boost also, also Hosmer I think will be better without everyone trying to change his hitting approach that got him to the big leagues to begin with

The Royals also will have Rookie Pitcher Jake Odorizzi who might be a 12-15 game winner with his stuff. Although it’s my prediction as its hard to predict Stats for Rookies these days.

So I think the Royals with adding atleast one or 2 more solid SP upgrades will be in good shape in 2013 season after the trade with the Angels yesterday

@Rudy Gamble, while I agree that the 2011 numbers are a bit of a concern, he was dealing with an injured/infected knee for most of the season. From the AFL on, he’s been absolutely on fire. Also, the guy played half of 2010 at age 19 in Wilmington. Wilmington’s park factor for RHH HR’s has hovered around the 55-60 range over the past couple years (http://statcorner.com/team2.php?team=426&year=2012) and his power stats were more than respectable in single-A, especially for a guy straight out of high school. In fact, they compare favorably to those of Mike Trout, who was also playing in the MWL at age 19 that year. It should also be said that his walk rates–a great indicator of future productivity at the plate–were out of this world in 2010, when he was playing young and absurdly young for A and A+, respectively.

@Grey,Its just an interview podcast but sports come up a lot. He actually has quite the sports knowledge, in the episode with Rob Riggle, who is a big KC fan, they started talking about Myers and the Royals for a minute.

I like the Royals are cheep and we will only pay as little as possible, so July seems reasonable.

Good to hear that your TV script might go somewhere. What I was actually talking about was you catching up on TV shows during your off-season. Not your real job.

I wanted to share a funny reality show moment from Ink Masters the tattoo show. So this chick is doing a tattoo on another lady and mis-spelled the script on the tattoo. Talk about a permanent bone head moment.

Two things worry me a bit on Wil Myers…

1) He only starting flashing power last year. His 2010/2011 HR rates are eh.

2) He has over a 20% K rate in AA/AAA. He need a ton of HRs + a .349 BABIP in order to deliver a .304 AVG.

I can see him hitting .250 with middling power. Wil(l) be interesting how much people reach for him because they regret not drafting Trout. I predict he’s drafted in every RCL league….

Jay Mohr as in Jay Mohr from Jerry Maguire? Discussing the Royals? Does he do a sports podcast? I think Myers will be up in July for “Royals are cheap” reasons… Things are going well, director and producer met with Sony on Friday about one of my scripts going into production in June… My mom was here this past weekend from New York and she was like, “Why aren’t you at the meeting?” Me, “Cause I’m the writer.” Mom, “But isn’t all they have now is a script?” Me, “Yup, but they don’t invite writers to meetings about their own scripts.”

wow, this is the second mention of Myers in my life over the last week. The other was on Jay Mohr’s podcast interview of Rob Riggle discussing the Royals being idiots for not calling him up when they were out of it, which is an annual thing. It sounds like in the standard format of the call-up, June, is probably going to be wrong too. He is either going to be a late April call-up, the one time in the season they have a chance, or some random date in July that makes no sense at all, like most the other moves made by the Royals….Johnathan Sanchez…

It’ll depend if Andrus is moved this offseason… I think Myers, but that could change with an Andrus trade and Profar getting a full time job… What probably will happen is Profar will go to Triple-A until Kinsler gets hurt…
