Yup I read the same Yahoo article about Huston Street. They are saying he heart his groin last week and is losing velocity. Would it def be Foulke that takes over? Casilla any shot?

The latest on Street is elbow tendinitis(i think) and he’s losing velocity because of it. Foulke is said to be next in line if he does end up on the DL.

Yeah, i picked up Casilla simultaneously and stashed him on my empty DL spot. I have Gonzalez manning the other, cheap saves on the horizon!

I only picked up Maddux yesterday to start against the Dodgers, he’s been pitching well recently with no run support. We’ll see how he does. I’m about -80 in IP so i’ve got to start making up some of that ground.

Should i be selling high on Adrian Gonzalez and Ervin Santana? Is Matt Kemp’s AVG sustainable with his K rate? I’ve been thinking about shopping those guys as well. I only acquired Santana and Justin Upton a few days ago for Quentin and Jurrjens, my team is/was very light on pitching, and particularly K’s.

Another question for you regarding the number of useful-looking FA’s in my league—Edwin Encarnacion, Adam LaRoche(sure to turn it around soon?), Wandy Rodriguez(excellent at home last year, didn’t give up an ER in past two starts), Joel Zumaya, Randy Wolf(been great at Petco), Alexi Casilla(now have Cano at 2B) and Moises Alou are all available—Any of them worth dropping Swisher(doubt i will, as he’s finally showing signs of life), Gomez, Justin Upton, Kouzmanoff, Parra, Baker, Maddux or Foulke for? I picked up Foulke for Justin Masterson earlier after reading about Street’s tendinitis…

Any of your thoughts would be much appreciated.

I also dropped Miguel Olivo when Doumit came back from the DL and am slightly concerned about his 1-12 start…

@Kevin: Casilla fell off bad last year after pitching very well. I'd let him come back and show he's okay for a while before reinvesting. Too many MRs out there to worry about him.

@Zebo: Not taking my own advice, I dropped Olivo when Doumit returned. Now I've dropped Glaus to pick up Navarro, while Doumit will rediscover his swing on my bench, where it may have fallen between the bench cushions. @royce!: Drop Murphy for Parra. In fact, you could Dropkick Murphy, in which case you will also get to hear some excellent music.

What is your take on Casilla in Oakland? Looks like he is 100% and ready to return. He has been the best relief pitcher in baseball this year as far as I can tell. He is available in my league.

sorry, i should have addressed the last comment to “anyone who can help”…
as sort of a follow up Q, i have too many OFs- hamilton, quentin, markakis, victorino, david murphy, crawford, and matt kemp. i would like to pick up parra but can’t decide if parra’s upside is worth dropping anyone. any thoughts?

i’ve been wondering when or if to shop volquez, and just got this offer…

i get hanley ramirez and jason kendall (whom i would promptly drop for either navarro or martinez, both FAs)

i give volquez and mccann.

i currently am in 1st by a 10 game lead. trader is in last, like 20 something behind me. i have a huge hole at SS (starting hardy, waiting for tulo to recover).

10 team weekly h2h

my other starters are lackey, harang, sheets, kershaw, litsch, dempster, so my SP stats would take a hit, but there are a lot of decent SPs on the wire.

@Zebo: It's not ideal. I think I said last week that it takes hitters (Doumit) a little while to get back up to speed. Might be a week or two and let's not forget he wasn't exactly a guarantee to produce coming into the year. He might take a while to get back on track.

Yeah, me too but I tried that without any luck.

I tried to calculate what the difference would be in Grandy/Bruce (and some Alou) for the remainder of the year. Also, I have Tulo coming back to fill the black hole that is my SS. Personally, I think Granderson is still hurt. He’s hitting fastballs, but his swing still looks awkward.

Maybe I am just trying to justify it all as I am last in K’s and WHIP.

The other issue is that Marmol has pitched a tonne of innings in the first half which worries me.

And finally, I have offered Grandy to everyone with no luck (Lackey, Sabathia, King Felix and Volquez)
