i’d just like to express my deepest gratitude to one kris medlen. let me count the ways of how much he means to me…

-first, you get called up before a much more deserving tommy hanson. “hanson’s the guy.” they said….so then of course the 5’6” midge gets called up because he’s got a flukey -0.69 era or whatever the hell it was.

-second, you give up a bases loaded double to john baker, allowing all three runners to score. none of these runners belonged to you. this not only ruined javy vazquez’s otherwise okay pitching line…you blew the win.

-and finally, last evening, you allowed the marlins to once again treat you like a punching bag, opening the gates for a 6 run inning, and once again blowing the win for none other than tommy hanson.

kris medlen i hate you.

@Grey: Yeah that took a little searching!

Strategy question:
As I am over by roughly 20 starts is it better to start moving out starters and replacing with RP that lead in K, WHIP, and ERA?
For example: I have 7 starters (Zito, Arroyo, and DLR were my streamers who stayed)
I don’t feel as though I can wait much longer and WHIP can’t keep getting wacked by Beckett and Halladay.

Fox has much more upside. @Tom_Emanski: He should be shutdown any day now. @BSA: Nice! @Matt K: Sorry, was going on knowledge as learned from Dragnet the movie with Dan Aykroyd. @bwass: Yeah, I think he can have a decent three weeks for this year. The walks seem to be an issue. I was looking at 2008 for Triple-A numbers. Thanks for pointing that out. @mattmaison: Thanks! @Martin: I'd hold Correia and grab Arroyo.

grey what do u think of Kevin Correia for the rest of the year. You told me to start him on WED (which was a great call, props to you) and I noticed his schedule is rediculously easy the rest of the year. He gets the likes of Ari twice away and home, SF away, and Pit away. Do I hold on to him. Also is bronson arroyo worth a spot on my team in a 12 team competitive league?

Grey, I am a White Sox fan that’s been following the minors and Carlos Torres has always been near the top of ERA, usually trailing only Buccholz. He’s 10-4 with a 2.39 ERA. 128 IP 96H 56 BB 130 K. He’s 26 so little old for a prospect but probably means he’s ready.

@Grey: Am trying to line up a fantasy bargain for 3B next year. Am a little confounded by Jake Fox and Casey McGehee. Each bats right-handed, but each has a higher slugging percentage against righty-pitchers. ??? Fox seems to have a little better upside? Playing time an issue. Will Cubbies find a spot on the field for Fox? Brewers seem to be clearing the way for McGehee as everyday 3B. Your thoughts?

i wont be drafting b.j at all anywhere next year,but i have to believe he rebounds decently,a 380 obp the past 2 years,from 97 walks last year to 50 this year,he will still be getting drafted way to high for me but i do see a productive year from him,270-20-35+steals would be about where i put him
