On this very emotional episode of the Prospect Podcast Halp and I ask the big questions like; What am I going to do when I can’t cover Andrew Benintendi any longer? Why do bad injuries happen to good prospects (Tom Murphy>tear emoji)? Why is there a warning on mattress tags? Who’s the person that brought back Pepsi Clear? Actually we talk about pretty much none of that, and instead dive into the Top Rookies for 2017 Fantasy Baseball. We probably run through a good 35+ players and feel like there may even be some players we missed. It’s an episode for leagues of all shapes, sizes, and scoring. All the big names are discussed Swanson, Renfroe, Margot, Judge, and Bell. We cover them all, it’s what we do. Rookies are the best in March! It’s the latest episode of the Razzball Prospect Podcast.

@FaustoCarmona: I’d go Franco, but I can see locking down Herrera if most teams have one reliever. He’ll save you some dough too.

        @Ralph Lifshitz:
I’m torn Franco could be a steal if healthy but closers go for like $20 in this league so I guess they’re like the steak and bleu salads. Thanks for the input. You’re welcome for those IP. Good luck in all this year!

    From rotoworld:

Authorities have determined that Jose Fernandez was operating the boat that crashed and killed him and two others last September. The investigation also concluded that Fernandez was driving at an extremely high rate of speed and was under the influence of both alcohol and cocaine at the time of the crash..

@Malicious Phenoms: remember at the time the reports that there wasn’t any evidence of intoxication too? yeah those were believable as all get out. it really takes this many months for autotopsy stuff?

Awesome work fellas, you guys should get these on sticher like the other razz mlb podcasts. Also, these strange “napa know how” commercials kept popping up but they were in Spanish for some reason. No mention on my boy sezel? Will he be the big topic this time next year? What do you think about him? Thanks and keep up the good work.

@TobiasFunkeAnalRapist: Thanks, Dr. Funke! Yea, the commercials are random. And I actually did like Senzel to be on the Beninendi/Bregman/Swanson timeline, but it might not make sense to start Senzel’s clock for Cincy. So hard to try to read management’s minds because a player can be ready, and still not get the call.

@Halp: right on but in terms of prospects, he’s pretty elite right?

I have Moncada and Swanson in a 5×5 OBP/Total Bases league, but I can only keep one. I already spent a keeper on Correa with my 11th round pick, I can keep Moncada and/or Swanson for a 21st/22nd round pick. I know Swanson will start the season in the bigs, but I think Moncada is who I should keep since I have SS sewed up with correa. Who would you keep? Or should I keep both of the rookies and not keep Odor with my 8th round pick. Odor would hurt my OBP, but that counting stat production is hard to find at 2B in the 8th round no less. What do you think?

    Keep 3 of these 4:

    Correa-11th round
    Odor- 8th round
    Moncada- 21st round
    Swanson- 22nd round

Listening to Renfroe. I think he’s legit, but you guys know more than me.

I think he is a better version of Duvall and just watching the SMALL sample last year, he’s a contact hitter who does not walk with monster power with near 40 hr power now, with lower strikeout rates than current power guys in the majors.

Judge looked lost last year. From what I saw the eye test, Renfroe is the safer option and more likely to succeed.

  8. I have so few people I can tell Jered Weaver jokes to. So let me say I greatly appreciate your appreciation of my appreciation for you guys.

My 16 team dynasty introduced a five round prospect draft last year and with all the info you guys armed me with I felt like your call to action deserved my best 5 star effort(translation: copious amounts of beer & late night typing).

And now you gift me with the ability to play the tape of the podcast and yell from the rooftops: JERED WEAVER IS ALWAYS FUNNY!!!

Seriously though, you guys do a great job. I enjoy it every week. Makes my commute a lot easier
