grey- would you trade grandy for headley in a keeper league? i don’t like grandy in 2013, but i don’t trust headley either. 20/15 would be great, but i fear he’ll look more like the pre-2012 headley. headley or grandy for 2013?

I also think that the limitless availability of sports coverage and its tiniest minutiae across a season, means that people are exhausted by the time the really important games roll around.

I’m rooting for the Cards in the NLCS, but only because they have better beards. It’s come down to that. Every one of the teams I rooted for was eliminated.

Although the psycho-Pence story line has me intrigued…

@Steve, I think the price of tickets factors into it, though the current batch of fans might have gotten a bit spoiled over the last decade. The infield seats are prohibitively expensive during the regular season, and I can only imagine how much they cost in the postseason. They’re probably mostly owned by corporations/lawfirms/etc. because they can write them off, so the people who actually use the seats are there more as a status thing than because they are truly fans. That’s my two cents, at least.

I wholly support eliminating the tax deduction for this sort of entertainment, btw, because it results in the prices for true fans being so much higher and the people in the good seats being there because of reasons other than their being true fans.

Yeah, that’s true… Hard to root for the favorites… Just feels like in say the NFL people have less issue rooting for a favorite… Though in the NBA people do seem against rooting for Miami… Maybe it’s a salary cap issue…

I guess there’s no ‘let’s see if they can keep the fairytale going’ aspect to it. People expected them to make it – and they did. Whoever wins, wins. It’s not like it will be a huge upset wither way.
