@jph: Petit's obviously been great in relief, I wouldn't trust him outside of matchups as a starter. It could mean Scherzer's return.

If Micah Blowings finally get the ghetto boot from the rotation is there a consensus on who fills that suck vacuum--anyone got a scouting report on Yusmeiro Petit?

@Tony B.: I agree with your greater than and less than signs for the most part. You *are* getting the better pitchers here, but Tex and Aram are the much better hitters in the trade. I'd want the better hitters unless my pitching really needs an upgrade. Your pitching is not dying for an upgrade. It's a fair, solid trade for either of the teams, but I'd hold pat if I were you.

@Zebo: Not a huge fan of Danks going forward, but his numbers show he should be okay. Hold him for now. I prefer Edwin for now.

@Grey: Edwin E. has more power and better %s, Adam Jones scores more runs and is at top of the line up. Both are in good ball parks. Jones gets occasional steals. Which one do you prefer?

@Grey: those 3 are owned. Campillo & Wandy by the same guy. I did manage to pick up Danks yesterday before all my guys went on the DL. Danks has been hittable the last few games wahts your forecast for him?

@Grey:

Am I giving up way too much on this one? I tend to agree with SaltyBiscuits' analysis about the deal. Can I get yours? Are you not as high on Johan as I am for the 2nd half?

I think it goes like this:

Greinke > Duchscherer especially in our league which counts K/9

A-Ram > Guillen (Guillen's big positive is his eligibility for me (1B-3B-SS)

Johan + Youk > Teix (There is a fall off with going to Youk, no doubt, I think Johan makes up for it with what he can provide me in pitching categories)

@Zebo: First, the Cubs barely beat CC last night. They were aided by Weeks in a big way. Second, Parra at home is a must start.

What about Liriano? Is he around? Campillo? Wandy?

@Grey: it's 11 team league, here are some guys I recognize, Parra, Blackburn, Slowey, Moyer, Perkins, basically nonaces from Minnesota, Edwin Jackson, Meche. I am dropping Laroche for Parra now, then I am not attached to any of these guys: Thome, Edwin E, Chris Davis.

@Zebo: Don't panic, there's plenty of pitching to be had always. Perez and Parra have looked good lately. I wouldn't go near Perez ever though, he's far too risky. Grab Parra and tell me who else you have on waivers for starters. Is that a ten team league? If so, drop both of those guys. LaRoche first.

@Grey: My Guthrie for Edwin E deal is not looking so hot now, that I lost Tim Hudson, the better version of Guthrie. My pitching sucks now, and I am panicking a bit. Harang still on the DL, and even bad when not on it. I dropped Dirty Sanchez cuz he was getting shelled, I lost Hudson and traded Guthrie. Right now, some of the hot pitchers over the last month are: Oliver Perez, Manny Parra, etc. Should I drop Laroche and Hudson to get those two pitchers?

Right now, I want Kotchman who has 3 HRs in the last 4 games. Next week, I might want Loney. But with marginal players, you should ride the hot streak.

Loney's September last year was a huge reason I won my league, any chance he can do that again? :)

@J-Bone: I have Young in a few leagues, I'm not starting him anywhere and I'm a big believer in starting everyone. Galarraga you can start.

@BSA: Makes sense.

@jph: I wouldn't start Mussina and the Reds have hit Wandy hard in the past.

@ABell: Ha

@knighttown: Rivera, Butler, Adam Jones, Swisher, punt.

@ShootyBabbit: That throw-away was pretty piss poor on Weeks's part, but I think there will be a timeshare of 75/25 no matter who is number one. Weeks is number right now. (Unless Weeks gets hurt, a real possibility there.)

BTW, good name.

@IowaCubs: Make sure you have your Google safesearch off though.

@SaltyBiscuits: Mags then Vlad, in that order.

None of those "aces." Shields, Billingsley, Beckett, Lackey...

@Denys: Drop him for Encarnacion.

@Tony B.: So Tex, Aramis, Torres and Duchsherer for Johan, Youkilis, Carlos Guillen and Greinke?

I would do it. Johan is about to go on a tear, and Greinke would give you good staff depth (probably be equal in value to Duch from here on out). Your lineup without Tex and Aramis isn't weak at all.

Guy wants from me, Teixeira, Aramis, Salomon Torres, and Duchscherer.

He's offering me Johan Santana, Youkilis, and Carlos Guillen. The 4th player he wants to give is Yunel Escobar. I'd rather him replace Escobar with Greinke or Jered Weaver.

I can't keep Teixeira because of a rule in our league in which if you have two guys in the same round, if you wish to keep them both, you have to give up the round below or the player in that spot. My situation is that I drafted Holliday in round 3 in 2007 and I recently acquired Sizemore in a trade who was also a 3rd rounder. So to keep them both, I have to let Teixeira go.

If I acquired Johan, he would be joining my staff of Lincecum, Billingsley, Lackey, Ervin Santana, Scott Baker, and Matt Garza.

My lineup without Aramis and Tex would look like:

C: Doumit
1B: Youkilis
2B: Cano
SS: Alexei Ramirez
3B: Longoria
OF: Holliday
OF: Sizemore
OF: Quentin
UTL: Carlos Guillen
UTL: Alex Rios

Do or dont' ???

Hey All,

Thinking of trading one of my outfielders and Valverde for a stud pitcher and Harang (I think he has some strong starts down the stretch).

Which outfielder should I move? Magglio, Vlad, McLouth ( I lean towards Vlad ).

Which ace should I target? Kazmir, Dempster, Harden

@knighttown: "Jose"? Would that be Guillen? Reyes? Canseco? Lopez? I'll assume its Guillen.

Guillen, Jones, Swisher, Butler & Juan. But really, I feel like these are all extremely streaky crapshoot players.

Oh, Margo Adams! Do a Google image search for her and you'd understand Wade's dilema.

Did you know that Wade Boggs is the reason Karabell is involved in fantasy baseball according to his bio? Damn you Wade Boggs.

With Rick Weeks defensive gems last night (not to mention his stellar OBP), what are the chances that Ray Ray takes over the 2B job on a full time basis? Im in a 15 team league that counts OBP and SLG rather than AVG and Ty Wigginton is just not getting the PT anymore...
