Welcome to the first official “This Week In Razz”, because we all know how good it is to be in Razz. Technically, last week was the first official post of this series, but that was more of a “welcome to the site, here’s what you can expect” type of thing. So I guess we had two beginnings, which means twice the fanfare, twice the laughter, and twice the, uh, yeah, I ran out of stuff that we got double of. Whiplash may work here. Regardless, I’m here to go over the week that was, in case you missed anything here on Razzball, and to go over what to expect next week…and what a special week it’ll be. Baseball finally starts, with Sunday being sorta-kinda-you-just-get-one-game Opening Day, and then Monday brings baseball to 100% operating levels. Unless you’re a fan of the Phillies. Then you’re really just working with 18 or so percent. But that’s okay! You have Philly Cheesesteaks, Chip Kelly innovating, I don’t know, stuff I guess, and yeah. Batteries to throw at people I guess? It could be worse! I mean, you could be living in Cleveland! (I’m kidding. Maybe.) So follow me after the jump to take a look back AND a look forward on all things Razzball. (Including helpful tips using Razzball’s Streamonator, Hitter-Tron, and DFSBot!)

This Past Week…

Do you know who Yoan Moncada is? Oh, you do, hunh? Well, what about Wendell Rijo? Gotcha! You know who does know about all of these prospects for the Red Sox and ranked their system? Mike did! And if that wasn’t enough, he also took a look a the Pirates Minor League system

For all you Nick Franklin owners out there (calling all Deep Leagues, calling all Deep Leagues), you’re probably going to want to read what Sky wrote about him

JB Gilpin hosted another great Pod, chatting with Grey about Jared Cosart, Taijuan Walker, and then spent more time talking about Milwaukee than the Milwaukee local news does. JB also updated his Top-100 Pitchers list, so get your knives out to argue about numerical rankings!

Lance went over some intriguing SAGNOF options, giving you the low down on B.J. Melvin Upton, Eric Young Jr., Dalton Pompey, Rajai Davis, and Micah Johnson. If you missed out on some speed in your drafts, be sure to get the skinny. (No, I’m not calling you fat. Don’t be so sensitive.)

Do you own Jayson Werth? Do you want to own Jayson Werth? Do you not own Jayson Werth? If you fit into any one of these three categories, you should probably see what Big Magoo wrote about him

The Official 2015 Razzball Picks and Bold Predictions came out this week, and you should probably check them out, if only to make fun of Sky picking Ryan Zimmerman for his choice for MVP.

Grey went over his rankings, and as an April Fool’s Day prank, proceeded to question himself and his mustache. But when his mustache answered back, a monkey was born from a stone, acquiring supernatural powers through Taoist practices. Totally happened. He also went over his RCL Team that all of you will have the pleasure of taking on in our Commentor Leagues. Speaking of the RCL, J-FOH wrote this update just for you!

Paul created an Auction Simulator from scratch, which makes me wonder even more now if he truly is a robot. Only time will tell if he’s a robot meant for good, or is the evil robot Age of Ultron was based on.

Smokey went over his first Closer Report of the 2015 season, and Tehol backed him up (hey now!) by going over which Closers will disgrace themselves, or delight their fantasy owners. He probably talked about Domonic Brown as well.

Do you not have enough of Kris Bryant yet? Good! Because I guess it was Kris Bryant week at Razz with Big Magoo going over if you should be bullish or bearish about his season and Malamoney took a look at him in Points Leagues.

Last, but not least, Rudy stopped by to explore how a hitter’s last week of at-bats may or may not affect the next days stats. Get your calculators ready! (TI-83 or higher recommended.)

Next Week…

Later today, Ralph will go over all the Two-Start Pitchers for the upcoming scoring period. (There might be more than a few. Or none! Who knows? Oh, wait, Ralph does. Nevermind.)

Speaking of which, Razzball’s Streamonator really likes Brandon McCarthy against the Padres for his scheduled start on the 8th. We’re projecting close to 7 innings pitched with 6 strikeouts, 1 walk, and just 2 earned runs. Sounds like a solid streamer to me!

Look for Razzball’s Top-100 Hitters list, debuting this Sunday, as J-FOH goes over a hitter that you should add for the week, and then ranks a whole bunch of other hitters. One hundred of em, I think. And why did he do all of this? Because I guess he has some time on his hands. And knives bro.

For what it’s worth, our Hitter-Tron projects Ben Zobrist to have over 6 hits, possibly a home run, along with a stolen base and 3 runs and 3 RBI’s this opening week. For context, Anthony Rizzo is ranked as the best hitter next week, and he’s projected for over 5 hits, a home run, and 4 RBI.

Our Daily Fantasy content also starts this week, with Sky and company bringing you all the tips and strategy you need to win that cash-monies. Be sure to check out our DFSBot on opening day to get started the right way.

We’ll also have JB’s updated Top-100 pitchers, another Podcast, and all of our content will concentrate on the best week of the year…

Baseball is here!

Want more of the Jay? Don’t we all folks? Don’t. We. All. Well, you, in fact, can have more. AMAZING. I know. You can find Jay enjoying his dig’s over at the Football side of Razz.
