@BSA: Guess it depends on what you need, Damon's a 15/20 guy. Kemp's a 15/15 guy with mild upside. Drew is what he is, which is to say injury-prone and decent when he's healthy. Wells is 25/7 with slight upside. Quentin can give you 25/10 with more risk. I'd drop Drew for him.

OK, So I am hearing you on Quentin and my league is driving me nuts because I can’t trigger a trade due to the fact they are a bunch of free agency whores. Back to Quentin, my outfield is currently Damon, Drew, Wells, and Kemp. I know, I know, people have already said, “Ugh”. Yet based on a wild spring and favorable matchups in a 10 team h2h I am 4 and 0. So any suggestions for fitting Quentin, or let him go to someone else?
By the way, great site. I probably check in as much as I check my transaction reports .

Well that’s true…no one likes Uncle Miltie but me as far as I can tell… geez, you’d think people would be able to see past one child abuse charge, a couple of manic episodes on the field and an injury history that makes Chipper look like Cal Ripken.

OK, but those are easy decisions (although Velez is picking it up recently). Would you drop one these guys for the Nazi: the Flyin’ Hawaiian, Clay Buchholz, Brett Myers, Rich Hill or Uncle Miltie (Bradley, that is — you can use that if you want). Yeah, I know, I’ve got a lot of reclamation projects going on….but hey I’m in 2nd place only 7 out of first. And if Pronk could ever re-learn how to hit…..sigh.

@josh: I have my hesitations too. I feel like it's hip to say he's the latest, greatest thing and I'm guilty of it too. The easiest way he gets into the rotation is Edgar gets kicked out, but I'm thinking he might just be a middle reliever at first, but he could be a Joba/Broxton type MR. And Lyon is a lot shakier than Rivera or Saito. I'd use the #1 waiver claim, unless your pitching's absolutely stacked and people in your league tend to drop players they shouldn't. To give you an idea of how I'm going about getting Scherzer, in one league I'm dropping Navarro, another Velez, another Casilla... So you see I have room to maneuver. But I'm not even sure I have the number one waiver claim, so I might not get him.

is scherzer worth the #1 ww spot for a team with good pitching? he only threw 90 innings last year, so i think we can only expect him to get max like 100 innings in the majors. he doesn’t have a rotation spot yet, but they have such a deep pen it almost seems ridiculous for them to leave him there. yahoo has been pimping him as the guy to use your #1 priority on for the last couple of weeks, but looking at it, i can’t really see him having a big fantasy impact this year.

@IowaCubs: Lopez is not someone you look to for average help and you're already in 2nd in steals. I think Tulo will be taking dumps in May that look better than Lopez's stats, so I wouldn't do that, even though I like Harang better than Cain.

On the subject of Cain, another player in my NLO league just offered me Harang and Felipe Lopez for Cain and Tulo. I’m leading in every offensive category except BA (8th) and SB (2nd), and I need the pitching help. Good idea?

Also, I’m hiring you as my personal FBB consultant, so congrats on that.

Oh and one more thing… thanks for the resource of this website. It’s my favorite fbb site.

@scott: I'm more concerned about Myers at this point, but I agree Hafner's been a Hafnot thus far. If you can get Harang, I wouldn't stand in the way of that. I would go after Tex, Berkman, Atkins, or Lee instead of Papi. @IowaCubs: Funny you should mention that, cause lil Hank was 11 driving in the Pee Wee class of 8 to 10 year olds. The pictures of him in the winner's circle with the budding mustache make that blatantly clear.

I know Axl preaches patience and lord knows I’ve tried to make all important life decisions by asking myself what would Axl do? However, I’m thinking it may be time move Pronk and/or Myers before the bottom completely falls out. I watched Hafner last night and he just looks lost. With Myers, if his fastball is in the 80′s he’s not going to be the pitcher we all expected this year, is he? I’m thinking of offering them as a package (of crap) deal to some unlucky fellow. Maybe try to land Aaron Harang or a bat (D. Ortiz?) to replace the 35/100 I thought I was going to get w/ Hafner.

I think I have to drop Billy, he’s slump is killing me and I already couldn’t sustain his lack of production. Matsui also hasn’t been very productive and I won’t drop him but benching is a distinct possibility, do you think Quentin is better for R/RBIs this year than Matsui?
