This Closerpocalypse is just getting insane. In the past week, I had Hector Santiago and Javy Guerra both lose their jobs, while I lost Street to the DL.
I just dropped Rafael Soriano (who I grabbed over the weekend) to pick up Janssen, and just dropped Frieri (who I also grabbed over the weekend) to pick up Addison Reed, who was also just dropped.
My head is spinning.

@scott, Yes, he has proven that he can hit in a small sample size. I’d much rather him continue to see at bats at a position he’s comfortable with, especially at age 23. Also need to remember he’s only spent about a month in AAA ball. With all that being said, trade Youk to the NL and get a 5th starter and maybe a bullpen arm. IN MIDDLEBROOKS WE TRUST!
@Poo Holes, I don’t necessarily disagree…your points are logical. But if the Sox must hold on to Youlk, and Middlebrooks continues to even produce half of what he’s been producing over a longer period, I’d say go for it…it’s not like the Sox have an A-team out there in the field at the moment anyway. That being said, yes, we need a more representative sample size….as for the pitching…gimme a break, they’re disappointing…and I feel so much better knowing Lackey is available for the 2013 season.

Picked up Marshall this morning as a third closer, didn’t really get the result I expected. In case you didn’t know, I was expecting a save, because that’s what closers are supposed to do. Okay, now that I sound like EVERYBODY else, keep rolling with Marshall or drop him for Dolis, Reed, Capps, or Cashner? I understand the whole “don’t drop a guy who still has the job” thing but when your other closers are Motte and Broxton, you may need all the insurance you can get.

@Awesomus Maximus, Looking at blown saves for someone with minimal closing experience has to be taken with a grain of salt.
@Cheese, Agreed, but so does looking at converted saves. My point is, I don’t see anything that would lead me to think he’s going to be automatic in the role.

@Mrobs, thanks to stanton diving for a shallow CLee pop up that he wasn’t going to catch. Clee got to third instead of first. This one is on Stanton, hopefully Ozzie sees it that way
@jack, now Bell comes in and does ok. Stanton’s little league misplay (you don’t charge and dive with a one run lead in the 9th and nobody on) has likely cost Cishek his chance. Great for Bell owners, tough luck for us Cishek guys
@jack, Just don’t get why he is diving at all or why Ozzie doesnt pull him and put in a better RF defensively. Just stupid baseball with someone who has a bad knee.
