Joining Rudy and I this week is Jimmy Pardo, he’s a baseball fan and the comedian who opens for Conan O’Brien every night of the week.  Not like that!  I mean he warms up the crowd.  Not like that!  Wait, how were you taking that?  Eh, not important.  If you want to do yourself an outside-of-the-bathroom-type solid, download Pardo’s podcast, Never Not Funny.  It’ll make you laugh or he’ll refund your money (it’s free).  Or you can check out him pitching to Justin Verlander.  He throws like a girl.  A very butchy girl who would kick your butt in anything athletic.  Anyway, here’s the Razzball Podcast, now with extra cackles from me:

    Chris Sale needs an MRI on his elbow. Grab Reed!

    • Grey

      Grey says:

      @quimmy, DAH! Thanks for the heads up!

    • Wilsonian says:
      (link)

      @quimmy, where did you hear this? I have been stalking this for awhile and haven’t seen anything at all.

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

        @Wilsonian, ne’er mind. I see it now. Addison will be, er, added to my Madison and Kelly.

    • OaktownSteve says:
      (link)

      @quimmy, but it’s being described as a “routine” MRI so it’s no problem! In fact, I get regular MRI check ups myself.

      “Hiya doc…nothing wrong with me…just in for my six month MRI. Put me in the tube.”

      • chata says:

    12 team head to head 7×7 with ops/ks

    Trout or Reynolds for my util spot?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      Trout

  3. Sam says:
    (link)

    The team that has lost Mariano has been trying to trade for a closer for a while now… Who would you give up out of Marshall, Casilla, and Robertson? And would you trade any of them for Feliz? This is a 10 team H2H.

    What do you think about a closer and Swisher for Rollins and Feliz?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Sam, I’d trade Casilla for him… I’d do the other deal too…

  4. peter says:
    (link)

    Cordero out as closer in Toronto. Closepocalypse Now! Janssen will replace him.

    Drop Cishek or Downs for him? My inclination is hold; it would be a lateral move. Santos coming back in a week or 2, as well as Janssen not pitching great.

  5. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Hardy, Craig, Reynolds, Youk, Choo, Rios, Kelly Jo.

    Rank em for my Utility spot. Thanks!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Wilsonian, Hardy, Choo…

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

        @Grey, just dropped Craig for Addison. Drop Reynolds for Hardy?

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @Wilsonian, Yeah

  6. Steven says:
    (link)

    Grey-

    Is Santos worth stashing and owning when he returns over Capps and Francisco? In the mean time since they just named Janssen the closer should i grab both Santos (DL him) and Janssen(use until Santos returns)

    Thanks

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Steven, He’s worth stashing but not at the expense of dropping a closer.

      • Steven says:
        (link)

        @Grey, I currently only own 2 closers and have been looking for a 3rd

  7. Todd says:
    (link)

    @Grey Looking to cut ties with Ike Davis at 1B (16 team 5×5 H2H).

    Any of these Schmohawks worth picking up?

    Robot Jones, Matt Carpenter, Juan Rivera, Laynce Nix, Brandon Snyder, Justin Smoak, Gaby Sanchez.

    Thanks!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Todd, Not really… Jones if you can platoon him in and out…

  8. A Hill O' Beans says:
    (link)

    Cashner or Janssen (TOR)?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @A Hill O’ Beans, Janssen

  9. Steven says:
    (link)

    Grey-

    Is Chipper Jones worth a platoon with Mike Aviles for 3B? Obviously I will have to check if he is in the lineup everyday but he sure seems to be producing when he is.

    Thanks

    • Steven says:
      (link)

      @Grey, This would be dropping Alvarez to get Jones

      • Grey

        Grey says:
        (link)

        @Steven, Nope

  10. McClintock says:

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @McClintock, Gregerson… If you can wait a few hours, might be Sale…

  11. Hardcore Midget says:
    (link)

    This Closerpocalypse is just getting insane. In the past week, I had Hector Santiago and Javy Guerra both lose their jobs, while I lost Street to the DL.

    I just dropped Rafael Soriano (who I grabbed over the weekend) to pick up Janssen, and just dropped Frieri (who I also grabbed over the weekend) to pick up Addison Reed, who was also just dropped.

    My head is spinning.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Hardcore Midget, Ha, yup…

      • Hardcore Midget says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Is it worth holding on to Guerra for a little while in case he lucks back into the job, or is it time to just cut bait?
        Could use an extra roster spot as I am currently holding a few DL guys on my bench, like Reimold and Panda.

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @Hardcore Midget, Cut bait

  12. Eddy says:

    Grey,

    Whom do you like more, Garza or Latos.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Eddy, Garza by a hair…

      • Eddy says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Thanks for the response. Also, in another league (12 team, H2H) I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on a deal where I trade away Harper and B.Myers for Strasburg.

        I have an absolutely stacked OF and two UTIL spots and would have Marshall, Sale and Casilla remaining.

        My SP is pretty good too, but I think it’s a good deal, no?

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @Eddy, I’d take Strasburg

  13. PunxsutawneyPhils says:

    • PunxsutawneyPhils says:
      (link)

      @PunxsutawneyPhils, I could also offer Michael Young for Heyward/Bonifacio.

      • Grey

        Grey says:

        @PunxsutawneyPhils, Take Heyward/Bonifacio

          @Grey’s da man!, Thayer – $1

    outlook on JD Mart? I have limited moves, sit him on the bench for a while or drop for anthor bench bat:

    Tabata, DYoung, RRoberts, Andino, Moreland, Pronk, Ibanez, Gomes,Dirks, Betemit

    • Grey

      Grey says:

      @nightpandas, Bench

  16. SellHighBuyLow says:
    (link)

    What do you think of this deal in a 12team, H2H points, keeper

    I give Moustakas/Nicasio, I get Longoria/E Santana.

    I have Beltre at 3B and Mous at U now. Would have to fill in U until Longoria comes back with the Heltons, Scotts, Reimolds of the world…what do you think? Thanks!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @SellHighBuyLow, Sounds solid…

  18. Mike says:

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Mike, I’d hold

  19. El Hombre says:
    (link)

    Keep Chase Headley (my league DOES count BB) or a FA option:

    Kyle Seager
    Todd Helton
    Wil Middlebrooks (leaning towards this, but I read Youkilis will get the 3B bid when hes healthy)

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @El Hombre, Middlebrooks

  20. Moscowitz says:
    (link)

    Sorry Grey i missed to ask you this one: HRod, Broxton, Marshall, Sale, Worley. Who would you drop for Reed? I pretty much think he is the guy for the white sox.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Moscowitz, Sale

  21. EK says:

      @chunk, Janssen

  24. Mike says:
    (link)

    Thanks for the quick response to my last question!

    Next one: 15-team mixed league, waivers are scarce….best back OF option: Tabata, Dirks, Dyson, or Nieuwenhuis?

    Thanks again!

      @agarthered, De Aza

  27. bean says:
    (link)

    Love the podcast but the connection between the studio and 3 remote people makes it confusing. Kind of ruins the flow when there is a guest and noone knows if they can talk without everyone talking at once.

    Thought about making the interviews one on one with either Grey or Rudy only?

    • chata says:
      (link)

      @bean,

      yep .
      they’re the guests on their own shows .

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @bean, Yeah, we gotta figure out a better system…

  28. 3FingersBrown says:
    (link)

    @Grey, 15 team roto, deep rosters OBP instead of AVG. My infield is shite.

    My Ricky Romero, Betancourt and Daniel Murphy for his Michael Young and Wiggy.

    Which side wins?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @3FingersBrown, Sounds fair…

      • 3FingersBrown says:
        (link)

        @Grey, I’m going for it. I’ve got solid pitching right now and I always like getting the single best player in any deal.

  29. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Just gave a BJ for Jesus. Now gotta drop Avila for one of the following for a utility spot:

    Choo, Rios, Youk, Reynolds

    Went with Choo, you think that’s the right move and call (especially on the trade)?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Wilsonian, Choo, yeah…

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

        @Grey, thanks for the reassurance. I felt dirty trading for a catcher. And felt even dirtier giving a BJ for him. But I think it could be that trade that puts me over the top and rounds out the squad better.

        Now what to do with this f*cking closers. Marshall…Sale…guh…

  30. Steven says:
    (link)

    Grey-

    Dusty Baker just pulled Marshall after giving up Hr to Braun, K to ARAM, Hart flied out to center field wall, Lucroy Singles, ph Aoki singles. Now Ondrusek in to try and close it out.

    • OaktownSteve says:
      (link)

      @Steven, Jinx.

    • Steven says:
      (link)

      With Dusty pulling Marshall does this mean i should go grab Ondrusek or Addison Reed? Boy are closers a mess this year!!!

      • Grey

        Grey says:
        (link)

        @Steven, Reed

  31. OaktownSteve says:
    (link)

    CLOSER FIAL ALERT: AKA dog bites man story these days.

    Marshall fails to finish, removed for Ondrusek. Film at 11.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @OaktownSteve, Yup

  32. Ray says:
    (link)

    Jason Kubel just hit the wire in a H2H league with OPS counted. Drop Boesch for him? Hope for a turnaround is waning now that he’s hitting out of the #8 hole.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Ray, Sure

  33. potus says:
    (link)

    Drop Marshall FOR Ondrusek?????

    I am kidding but the unholy closer gods continue to crush fantasy hopes everywhere.

    • OaktownSteve says:
      (link)

      @potus, you don’t even necessarily have to be kidding. Nobody knows nuttin.

    • Derrick says:
      (link)

      @potus, Just looked at Ondrusek’s stats. He has yet to give up a run. I wonder if the Reds might think about this.

  34. OaktownSteve says:
    (link)

    Bryan LaHair. Is there anything he can’t do? Break up Bryan LaHair!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @OaktownSteve, Ha!

    • stumanji says:
      (link)

      @OaktownSteve, Is it crazy that I turned down Gallardo for my LaHair? My pitching is already great and LaHair is bananas in my OPS league.

  35. Phil Brickma says:
    (link)

    I don’t know about you guys, but I love the closer-pocalypse. Drafted one closer (Javy Guerra) and handcuffed Jansen to him. I now have Rodney, Jansen, Casilla, and Chapman. Schadenfreude, snitches!

    In a related note, how the hell does Chapman not have the closer role?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Phil Brickma, Or starter role…

  36. Derrick says:
    (link)

    Cueto is kinda incredible. He has now allowed SIX earned runs in SEVEN starts.

    At what point do we put him in the first tier?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Derrick, You’re trading him for Kershaw?

      • Derrick says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Bad move? lol

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @Derrick, I’d take Kershaw.

    • beardcrabs says:
      (link)

      @Derrick, when he wins a cy young… first tier SP’s you draft within the first 2-4 rounds…

  37. potus says:
    (link)

    Unless the CUBS get something going in the bottom of the 8th looks like Atlanta has the win wrapped up.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @potus, Cubs just won, no?

      • potus says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Yes it was prematureclosepocalypseation on my part.

        Sorry if it was misleading. I clicked over to my betting vegas website and they had the Braves 9-1 to win it down one in the top of the inning. Figured they had finally adjusted their late game betting line properly.

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @potus, No problem

  38. mhfella says:
    (link)

    Just took the Axford/Marshall double slam. Not happy. Axford’s season era and whip now 5.59 and 1.97

    Is Chapman imminent? Drop lefty Marshall for Reed while he’s still available in my league? Or it’s early May and I should chill?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @mhfella, I’d hold, unfortunately…

  39. Oxford Comma says:
    (link)

    With Marshall blowing it today, should I drop Smyly (who I picked up today for the matchup with Seattle) to grab Reed?

    Pedro Alverez would be the only bat I could drop (Chipper played already).

    Thx Grey!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Oxford Comma, Go for it

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Oxford Comma, BTW, I like your username. Very dignified.

      • Oxford Comma says:
        (link)

        @Grey, I’m a professional writer and a user of said comma. Also my team name. What’s more fierce than a comma? : )

        • Grey

          @Oxford Comma, Semicolon

  40. agarthered says:
    (link)

    One more Grey,

    I made a post earlier about my closers?

    Who would you rather have if i trade casilla

    Feliz or Cahill.

    I also got offered

    casilla/chapman for dan hudson.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @agarthered, Feliz… I’d hold Casilla and Chapman, but it’s close…

  41. Danger Zone says:
    (link)

    Is this trade fair?

    Bumgarner/Hosmer for Hamels/Gardner

    I really need a 1st baseman, and am hoping to buy low on Hosmer…

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Danger Zone, It sounds fine…

  42. Jim says:
    (link)

    I have Fuentes and Gregerson as handcuffs. Would you drop either for Ondrusek? Also, is this the Hosmer we will see all season or do you expect him to break out of this? Thanks.

    • schlitzy says:
      (link)

      @Jim, I’d dump either for a speculative add of Ondrusek. Seems like nothing with Marshal getting the hook, but crazy things have been going on with closers and Dusty is crazy already.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Jim, Speak about Hosmer in the podcast… I’d lose Gergerson…

  43. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Lind likes the 8 spot…

  44. RK says:
    (link)

    So glad that I missed my draft accidentally so that I ended up with 1) no closers and 2) too many SPs, so I flipped Luebke for Maybin.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @RK, Nice

  45. crush says:
    (link)

    how would you rank: detweiler, greinke, samardazija, smyly, parker, garza, niese, lilly with the following Cats: wins/ERA/Ks and Ks/9 (i.e. no WHIP); if i took the two lowest what type of outfielder may they be worth (12 team league). thanks.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @crush, Don’t think you’re getting anything for your two worst starters in a 12 team league… Maybe a 4th OF…

  46. Todd says:
    (link)

    @Grey/all

    Give Balfour for LaRoche? (need a 1B)
    It’s a 16 Teamer – already have Kimbrel/Putz/Casilla

    Thanks!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Todd, Sure, it’s fair

  47. crush says:
    (link)

    i threw that in at the end but what about ranking those SPs, i have guys coming off the DL and need to drop some… thanks.

    • Grey

      Grey says:

      @crush, No idea what you’re referring to…

  48. GTS says:
    (link)

    Grey: Lincecum or Morrow/Craig?

    • GTS says:
      (link)

      @GTS, I meant Lincecum/Craig or Morrow?

      • Grey

        Grey says:
        (link)

        @GTS, I’d take Lincecum, probably about even though…

  50. Nuke LaDouche says:
    (link)

    Who’s the first to go? Drabek, Capuano, Samardjiza, Detwiler, Worley, or Parker. I’ve just been grabbing all the hot starters but I’m going to have to let one go soon.

    Great call Javy losing his job. Twice now had Roberts and jansen and dropped 1 day prior to getting job. Anyways do u like reed more then S. Marshall going forward or hold?

    • Grey

      Grey says:

      I do… But it’s a bit ballsy to drop a guy who’s still technically the closer…

    i like these podcasts. i find they arent simply a regurgitation of your roundups. they serve their own purpose, and they do it well. i felt they were too howard stern in the beginning, but now theyre just jolly, upbeat, insightful information spewing. please keep it up.

    please evaluate this trade:

    hosmer/reynolds or gallardo

    • Grey

      Grey says:

      Thanks! Trade’s fair, I’d take Hosmer barely…

        (link)

        @Grey, 14 teams, keeping 10 next year, is it time to drop Ike for Yonder?

        Or does Ike have some value with that many teams?

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @Steve, I’d hold in a deepish keeper like that… He has zero homers, just getting some empty hits…

      • Steve says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Or is it safe to drop Chris Davis for Yonder?

  56. Kratos says:
    (link)

    Undecided between giving Lynn/Freese or Peavy/freeze for Greinke.
    My O is loaded and can lose Freese. Have only Felix, Bum, Lynn and Peavy as sp.’s. Posted yesterday, looking for more razzput.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      Lynn… Either could work… Gut call…

        @Grey, thanks. Gut went Lynn.

    Did you hear that news that Bobby V said Middlebrooks will not play OF? Is the best possible explanation for this that they’re gonna send him back down to the minors when Youlk comes back? This offends as both a Red Sox fan and Middlebrooks fantasy owner…

    • Poo Holes says:
      (link)

      @scott, Yes, he has proven that he can hit in a small sample size. I’d much rather him continue to see at bats at a position he’s comfortable with, especially at age 23. Also need to remember he’s only spent about a month in AAA ball. With all that being said, trade Youk to the NL and get a 5th starter and maybe a bullpen arm. IN MIDDLEBROOKS WE TRUST!

      • scott says:
        (link)

        @Poo Holes, I don’t necessarily disagree…your points are logical. But if the Sox must hold on to Youlk, and Middlebrooks continues to even produce half of what he’s been producing over a longer period, I’d say go for it…it’s not like the Sox have an A-team out there in the field at the moment anyway. That being said, yes, we need a more representative sample size….as for the pitching…gimme a break, they’re disappointing…and I feel so much better knowing Lackey is available for the 2013 season.

        • Poo Holes says:
          (link)

          @scott, I feel as though it doesn’t matter what decision is made because someone will be out there whining about it. As for that last statement, I hope it was sarcastic. I would want nothing to do with that bum Slackey. Guy slacks. Convince Wake to come back. Hell, even Pedro would be better than Slackey.

          • scott says:
            (link)

            @Poo Holes, the Sox will always give someone something to whine about…that’s the great thing about being a Sox fan. And yeah, was there really any question about my Lackey comment being sarcastic lol???

            • Poo Holes says:
              (link)

    Picked up Marshall this morning as a third closer, didn’t really get the result I expected. In case you didn’t know, I was expecting a save, because that’s what closers are supposed to do. Okay, now that I sound like EVERYBODY else, keep rolling with Marshall or drop him for Dolis, Reed, Capps, or Cashner? I understand the whole “don’t drop a guy who still has the job” thing but when your other closers are Motte and Broxton, you may need all the insurance you can get.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Poo Holes, Ha… I could see going to Dolis, but there’s no saying he’ll be better…

      • Poo Holes says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Does it make any difference if I told you Bell, Walden, and Janssen were also available? My guess would be no.

        • Grey

          Grey says:
          (link)

          @Poo Holes, Yup… I’d go to Dolis…

          • Poo Holes says:

            @Grey, You’re the man, man.

  61. Beau says:
    (link)

    Desperate need for saves…trade Addison Reed for Downs? I think no but countered with Jim Johnson coming to me instead.

    Drop Jarrod parker in 10 team keeper for janssen? Or maybe drop werth instead since I dont have a dl spot open?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Beau, I’d take Johnson… Sure, grab Janssen… Lose Werth…

  65. tom says:

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @tom, Andino for now…

  66. How about LaHair For Panda? 10 team league, 8 keepers per year (regardless of round), ops, Ks against, xbh, walks, hrs, rbis, r, avg, sb

    I imagine LaHair is going to taper off, no?

    • Grey

  69. Schlitzy says:

    Need to add two of the following SP for rest of season in a league where moves are restricted. Also, 4×4 so Ks do not count.

    Capuano

    McDonald
    Jason Vargas
    Zambrano
    Smyly

  70. Wake Up says:

    I’m sure it has been discussed by now but…Marshall didn’t look good at all…Ondrusek got the save…I was watching the game and I wouldn’t be surprised if Chapman stays in for the 8th and 9th at times…I would be surprised, however, if it is discovered that he is somehow related to Dog the Bounty Hunter…

    Got an odd trade offer that I’m sure I’ll deny, but still wondering some thoughts.

    Give: JUp
    Get: Cuddyer/CJ Wilson

    It helps the rotation, but obviously kills my offense assuming Upton turns things around. He has Pujols, so I could counter for him. Or could counter for Kershaw. Thought? Talk amongst yourselves.

  73. Eddy says:

    Ranked 28th.

      Grey says:
      (link)

      Wow, very surprising… Who are the top 5?

      • Eddy says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Sorry, I depend on email notifications to let me know when my comment has been responded to but for some reason some of those get sent to my spam folder. Any idea why?

        Top 5:

        Cardinals: 11.4
        Rangers: 9.3
        Braves: 7.9
        Dodgers: 7.0
        Yankees: 6.8

        Bottom 5:

        Marlins: 2.3
        Mariners: 2.3
        Tigers: 1.5
        Athletics: 1.4
        Pirates: 1.0

  74. Eddie says:

    Grey,

    Can’t even believe I’m asking this question….
    I’m in it deep in the OF in my 16 team H2H league. Lost Werth and I can’t get a remotely fair trade offer from my predatory leaguemates. Do you think Manny Ramirez gains OF eligibility this season?

    /FMFBBL

    • Grey

      Seems doubtful, but maybe by July/August he’ll get 5 games…

  75. Oxford Comma says:

    Grey, you don’t seem to like Allen Craig by much. Is this because you believe he won’t play every day or something else? I usually follow your advice,but I’m not dropping him over Pedro Alverez.

    • Grey

      You don’t seem to like Allen Craig very much. Is this cuz you don’t think he’ll play very much or something else? I usually follow your advice but I’m not dropping the cleanup hitter of the Cards for Pedro Alverez.

      • Cheese

        Cheese says:

        @Awesomus Maximus, Looking at blown saves for someone with minimal closing experience has to be taken with a grain of salt.

          Awesomus Maximus says:
          (link)

          @Cheese, Agreed, but so does looking at converted saves. My point is, I don’t see anything that would lead me to think he’s going to be automatic in the role.

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

        @Awesomus Maximus, just hoping one of my damn closers could be reliable. Between Hanrahan, Robertson, Marshall, Sale/Reed, I’ve got nothing.

          Awesomus Maximus says:
          (link)

            (link)

            @Awesomus Maximus, Nice on the oxymoron, might use that for the title…

    • @Wilsonian, but he can pitch the 8th inning

  91. Steve says:

        @Grey, That’s depressing. Means the best I can do is Scherzer to improve a staff with Haren as the ace? What do u see in this guy with so so numbers last year and terrible numbers this year? Or maybe last year’s numbers weren’t so bad in your opinion?

    • jack says:
      (link)

      @Mrobs, thanks to stanton diving for a shallow CLee pop up that he wasn’t going to catch. Clee got to third instead of first. This one is on Stanton, hopefully Ozzie sees it that way

      • jack says:
        (link)

        @jack, now Bell comes in and does ok. Stanton’s little league misplay (you don’t charge and dive with a one run lead in the 9th and nobody on) has likely cost Cishek his chance. Great for Bell owners, tough luck for us Cishek guys

        • bean says:
          (link)

          @jack, Just don’t get why he is diving at all or why Ozzie doesnt pull him and put in a better RF defensively. Just stupid baseball with someone who has a bad knee.

          He better homer to win it in the top 12th!

      • Steve says:
        (link)

        @royce!, May I point out, counsel, that I had already made the move. Just looking for some after-the-fact gratification ;-)

      @Steve, That’s awesome… Hopefully they know which balls to scratch…

        @Grey, Sorry to post the photo again, but it never gets old.

  101. shawn marcum and a closer for yu darkish? pull the trigger?

      @kR Express, Yup

  102. Steve says:

    Awww, Vargas. Just couldn’t keep it up.

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Steve, Almost got there…

      • Steve says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Got Miggy to hit into a double-play to get out of the inning. Hopefully the offense can pick him up in the 7th…

        • Steve says:
          (link)

          @Steve, Maybe this time, Mariner offense.

          • Steve says:

            @Steve, Gah.

    Just traded Pedroia/S. Casilla/ S. Marshall for Papi/Andrus/Marcum. Good trade? Bad trade? Even trade?

      Looks decent…

    Nelson Cruz dropped in 12-team H2H keeper (up to 3 years) – I think I know the answer, but who should I drop to put in a waiver claim for him – Rollins, Jed Lowry, Dave Robertson, or Trout?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      Lowrie

  105. royce! says:
    (link)

    The Closepocalypse has had me adding and dropping relievers so much that I actually had to run through all my teams to see if I still had Cishek anywhere. I do, but on the bench in a weekly league! Everything’s coming up royce!!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @royce!, Ha, seriously…

  106. Steve says:
    (link)

    W(here)TF? is Boggs? Is the guys with the name I can’t spell the main 8th-inning guy now?

    • royce! says:
      (link)

      @Steve, Could be a matchup thing… Boggs could come in to face Hill, after The Rze faces two lefties.

      • royce! says:
        (link)

        @royce!, Or I could just be full of shit.

        • Steve says:
          (link)

          @royce!, Never!

      • Steve says:
        (link)

        @royce!, I hope so. I could do with a one-out Hold that would, had my opponent got one, send me into an apoplectic rage.

  107. Nuke LaDouche says:
    (link)

    Ramos or Doumit ROS? Thanks Grey!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      Doumit

  108. Steve says:
    (link)

    Yes! Go the Mariners. Hell of an outing from Vargas.

  109. Steve says:
    (link)

    Holy shit. Anyone else have Putz, Marshall and Robertson ON THE SAME TEAM?

    Karma for Hamilton’s day yesterday, presumably.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Steve, Don’t have Marshall, everyone else….

    • stumanji says:
      (link)

      @Steve, I have Axford and Putz. Ruined two great outings from Peavy and Smyly for me.

  110. Steve says:
    (link)

    Now we get Boggs?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Steve, Ha… Your man Boggs…

      • Steve says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Um, do I need to look elsewhere for Holds?

  111. Steve says:
    (link)

    This Boggs bullshit could really spoil the fun on a team where I own Peavy and streamed Vargas.

    • Steve says:
      (link)

      @Steve, Motte is an effing magician.

      • Grey

        Grey says:
        (link)

        @Steve, Motte says you’re welcome.

  112. jack says:

    Holy sheit. Putz you PUTZ! That’s what 3 nasty blowups already this year for you?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @jack, Yeah, not good…

  113. 3FingersBrown says:

    Hey look at that. Another dinger for Craig! Go guys with 2 first names!

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @3FingersBrown, Ha!

  114. Nuke LaDouche says:
    (link)

    Drop Drabek for Samardzija or James McDonald?

    • Nuke LaDouche says:
      (link)

      @Nuke LaDouche, add Volquez to that list.

      • Grey

        Grey says:
        (link)

        @Nuke LaDouche, Volquez at home, McDonald…

  115. Steve says:
    (link)

    I know I’m being a pain in the arse asking about this all the time, but any thoughts on the choice between Jay and Craig on a day when Jay sat against a LHP and Craig didn’t.

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Steve, I think Craig’s worth a pick up but be ready for him to sit on occasion.

  116. Poo Holes says:
    (link)

    Does Cishek’s blown save warrant a rush to grab Mujica where available?

    • Grey

      Grey says:
      (link)

      @Poo Holes, I’d grab him

      • bean says:
        (link)

        @Grey, Isnt this a lot like Casilla the other night where Pagan takes a horrible route to a ball in CF and the inning goes on? It wasnt a slam dunk but a lead off triple scores over 90% of the time…….really hard to defend that run.

        Even Ozzie is smart……..wait what am I saying……grab Mujica!

  117. Junior Ortiz says:

    Is Brennan Boesch worth keeping in a 12-team H2H league when I have CarGo, Bruce, Choo, Maybin and Harper to rotate in my 3 OFs and 1 Util spot?

  118. Timmy says:

    Janssen or Reed?
