Hey Ken

It's the Fantasy baseball hall of fame so i had to separate out true value from fantasy value. Little things like the small injury you mentioned hurts is case, because it hurt fantasy owners. I can't cut him a break because of this. Also, unfortunately the 20-0 run is meaningless in fantasy, so are his MVP's, and the fact he'll get 2000 hits. Fantasy baseball is a "what have you done for me lately" type deal, and the reason the core metric used for induction is a players 5-year peak score.

Top reasons why he isn't enshrined
1 - He was a top 20 batter just twice
2 - only 1 finish as the best shortstop in the game
3 - As of 2007, his 5th best season is not historic (low average, low SB)
4 - I recently embarked upon the journey of recreating All-Star teams for each season. Tejada makes the team just twice, in 2002 and 2004.

Finally, just as an example, his 2006 numbers look real good right? This was his 4th best season - .330 AVG, 99 R, 24 HR, 100 RBI, 6 SB. But two shortstops were better - Jeter (.343 AVG, 118 R, 14 HR, 97 RBI, 34 SB) and Reyes (.300 AVG, 19 HR, 81 RBI, 64 SB). Further, 21 batters were better too, those stats just aren't what they used to be. I have Pujols, Ortiz, Howard, Holliday, Utley, Soriano, Jeter, Dye, Reyes, Vlad, Atkins, Cabrera, Beltran, Lee, Berkman, A-Rod, Morneau, Sizemore, Hafner, Crawford, and Wright all ranked higher.

He was really, really good, but my cut-off only takes the greats.

M.T had 10 full seasons+26 games as a call up in 97.
going into this season

LT AVG .287
4x .300+
1x in OAKLAND
3x in BALT
If not hit by a pitch and missed a month played hurt and ended .296
More 300 avg yrs in BALT

He just got his 350th dooubles
8 yrs of 30+ Doubles
Or after next double 10x20 doubles
Highs of 37 40 42 50
again all highs but 1 in Balt

Also just got 1800th hit this season
1x in OAKLAND
2x Balt
1x199,177 other highes

Again more 200 hit in Balt
Will have 1000 runs score also this year needs 5 more
He will also have 1100 RBIs at some time this season needs 24.
6x100RBIs 3x other highes of 81-84-98.
highs 131 150 the 150 highest by a SS in 55 seasons.
Most RBIs in a season was in BALT 150

Also 100 ks in a season only 1 time
1000 Double plays turned took few less years for Miggy to get 1000 most SS

Since he won the MVP in 2002 he has grown up and learned to use the the batt to improve in all areas not just a young Oakland swinging for fence alot more . Never was a power hiter only 4 times over 30 mostly 8x20

The trade off instead of 27+115 hes 24/85 hr/RBI while all at the same time Doubles,Avg,Hits, are all better and still the good 8walks to 80 k is about the same for whole playing time
Dont for get MVP 2002
4time allstar The one he started he hit hr to win All star MVP 2004

When the A's 20-0 they became first team in AL's history to win 20- in a row miggy help with 2-3 walk off hrs

I actually agree Grey. This was an oversight on my part because I had been focussed on people who would actually get elected. The only criteria is having 5 years of service time, but in my Top 25 report I included people with less service time.
