I'm sure he wants to play every day, all these guys do, but if he can't play, he sits. I remember last year's SI article on Chipper said his legs and knees are so bad that he needs his wife to help him out of the car some evenings. Chipper wants to get into the Hall of Fame...he knows he needs to keep building the counting stats....taking days off for bumps and bruises won't help his cause. @Corey: I’m a Mets fan, but Chipper is one of the best hitters I’ve ever seen.
