Trevor Plouffe is returning from the DL and that’s big news because it’s big news.  If you would’ve jumped out of a DeLorean back in March and told me I’d actually be writing a lede for Trevor Plouffe, let alone just a lede because he’s returning from the DL, I would’ve told you there’s no way Plouffe would warrant a lede and this is the information you bring back from the future?

Vicente Padilla had this to say recently to Telemundo about Mark Teixeira, “He should play a women’s sport.  When he hits a home run, he can take off his jersey and slide on his knees around the bases… Then, while he’s on his knees, well, let’s just say in my home country, we’d make him a bucket… And, if he wants to cry about me pitching him inside, he can cry into a sanitary napkin.

Ryan Zimmerman recently admitted to the Washington Post that his shoulder isn’t at 100%.  I recently admitted to the College of Fantasy Baseball at Charleston Alumni magazine that my pinkie finger has been acting up.  I go to type up some fantasy baseball  advice and it looks like this, “I drafted Ryan Zimmerman, that piece of @#$%^&*”  I don’t reach for the Shift key and symbols, but my pinkie involuntary adds them.

David Robertson to the DL for three weeks with a left oblique strain.  2009 was the Year of the Oblique, then there was the Middle Infieluenza Outbreak of Twenty-Ten, and 2011 was a war between General Soreness and Major Discomfort.  This year is The Closepocalypse.  If you’re a closer and gonna go to the DL, at least get your make-believe plague right.

Let Kate Upton know that Philip Humber is now allowed entrance into the Perfect Club as he retired 27 straight Mariners (here’s a tip: don’t get too close to Dallas Braden in the sauna).  That’s only the 21st perfect game in history – surprisingly, as you would’ve thought at least that many pitchers would have thrown perfect games against the Mariners last year.
