Note on Napoli, so I looked at the HR highlight on MLB.com. It was a flyball that got caught in the jetstream to right center. Napoli didn't even think he hit it well.

So I wouldn't blame Scioscia if he didn't score a point for Napoli on the homerun for realz.

Jonathan Sanchez at the new Shea stadium . . . Blanco is 2/2 with 2 hrs and D-Wright hits him well, but other than that, Sanchez should be able to mow 'em . . . but then again, he could take the whole pack for a walk . . .

What's the call on Sanchez at Mets tonight?

I'm leaning towards starting with tempered expectations.

@knighttown: I think he's Haren tier. A-minus ace. Price may be joining him soon. I wouldn't trade him straight up for Nolasco or Hamels. Lee and Haren, yes.

@Donnie Baseball: I wouldn't rush to get Granderson while he's out for a month.... I think Grandy ends up more valuable at year's end than Jones, but I can't ever suggest trading for an injured player. It's like asking for what's behind Door #3 when there might be only two doors.

@knighttown: Morneau + Marmol + Alexei seems fair. Alexei is just a throw-in since you'd have Hanley, and 4th-rounder plus closer seems fair for first-rounder.

Morneau's a former MVP in the best RBI situation in baseball (i.e. behind Mauer). He is what he is if he stays healthy: .275/30-35/100-120 e.g. a very reliable 2nd-to-4th rounder year to year.

Morneau/Nolasco is also a fair deal, though I wouldn't up the offer from that.

@Howard: I'm a Krispie Konvert, but McCutcheon McCutcheon McCutcheon. I don't even know if I'm spelling his name right and I still like him better.

@Elijah: Stanton '10 = Bruce '08. Causing many an owner-boner, but not likely to live up to the hype. I love how this morning Yahoo! was touting his 500-foot homer... as if the distance of home runs hit in Double A are some indication of MLB readiness.

Just how much has Liriano's value shot up this year? Using Grey's tiers has he jumped into the Wandy/Price tier, past that into the Hamels/Lee/Nolasco tier or all the way up to the Haren tier?

@knighttown: top 20 NO WAY. I'd deal Morneua/marmol in a second and Morneua/Haren even would be more realistic and something i'd do..... morneua is NOT a top 20 player and wont be drafted as one next year.

now i'm just seeing your ideas, morneua/alexie/marmol would be a great deal to bag hanley....

Anybody else with any thoughts about Ad. Jones for Granderson?

I'm just a little worried, cause Granderson stats are pretty much comparable to Jones' right now. Not good.

I can handle the month without stats, but if the numbers are going to be similar, what's the point.

Man, I didn't realize how Granderson really cooled off, after a hot start.
