Agree on Sanchez awesome but you never know who shows up. I will not be surprised if Jonathan Perez and Oliver Sanchez become synonymous with each other.

Same type of shaky control. Full disclosure, I have them both and it’s scary.

Though it pains me to say, I am going to have to let someone else take Jonathan Sanchez this year. The guy can be dominating (and as a Giants’ fan I hope he will be), but his lack of control makes his stats to volatile for me. I saw him in spring training last Saturday: 1st inning, 3 up, 3 down, 1 K, 2nd inning, 1 K, 2 outs, 2 hits, 5 walks!, 4 runs.

Sanchez can get you great K’s and go on a successful overall run, but he’s just as likely to ‘roofie’ you and then it will make it really tough not to drop him.

Point taken on Latos Grey. I love me those Petco pitchers. What do you think of Kevin Correia by the way? Improvement or regression? He was a nice back end surprise for me last season. Wow that sounds dirty.

@Euroalien: Depending on how deep a league you’re playing in, I’d take a depth chart too – or at least denote on your other lists whether or not guys will actually have a steady job.

I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but imagine drafting Granderson in a H2H league, to find out that he’s sitting against lefties!

@Andre: Sadly, I've heard the field is small and may be Fenway North. But until the field plays we gotta look at it as neutral. I don't care about Verducci with how late Latos is going. It's not like it's a top 10 round pick. He's that good and he's in Petco. @Euroalien: I'd take the top 300 and tiers.

I’m curious……. what lists do you guys take to a live draft? I know there’s such a thing as having too much material…. I’m thinking Grey’s rankings by position, the tiers and maybe the top 300. Any thoughts? Anything I’m missing??

I feel good knowing that I’m targeting some of the same guys you are. In a H2H league, I love those guys that heat up in the second half.

Is Latos really that good? As an East Coaster, I haven’t seen him pitch. Do you think he’ll be on a Verduccian innings limit this season? Innings limits are always something to keep in mind when drafting young starters…

I was just about to ask about Slowey’s wrist when I realized he was actually dealing to Los Mets on SNY as I type this. Dude can pitch and his wrist looks A-OK.

How are people projecting the new park in Minnesota? I don’t know about the dimensions, but I imagine the cool weather should help pitching in the early/late season no?

I like Price a lot this year. His post all-star stats last week were good, 1.20 whip, but, the big thing was that he struck out less and walked less. Not that the less Ks are good, but, the less walks certainly are. And I think the less Ks are keeping people away from him. Less glamorous or whatever, or people think that the only way Price can pitch OK is if he really limits trying to strike dudes out. But, I think that’s just normal learning how to pitch.

Next step is keeping the walks down with adding the Ks back in, which I think he should be able to do.

Hate to bring up a sore subject but post-razzball lovechild James Shields is ranked 153rd by ESPN. He’s sandwiched by Scherzer and Harden with other names like Hudson, Burnett, and Danks in the same vicinity. I know he let us down in 2010, but he’s still young and could bounce back to fall in our loving hands once more. Should we take him over the other guys mentioned?
