The catch is, you can’t change your mind if the guy you want ends up getting injured, etc.

I feel the waiver system itself is ludicrous. Why should an owner get first dibs at a player just because he has the worst team in the league? Why should a guy that logs on for 5 minutes once a week just to set his roster get the best free agents over another owner who is actively involved and trying to improve his team? The hardest working and most involved owners should have the advantage.

I sent 5 emails and finally made a call to them for an explanation. After 5 canned responses, the human being I finally talked to stated that they pnly place highly rated prospects on the waiver wire at the beginning of the year and apparently Straily wasn’t rated high enough. What a load of crap.

I completely disagree with you about Berry’s articles though. Regardless of what most people think of his writing style, he has a ton of readers, including you. And that’s the whole point: To get people to read your material.

Keep up the good work though. Razzball is a great site!

There are always players that have career years in MLB that makes everyone wonder what PED they took. At the end of the day we don’t swing the bat and can’t control the outcome of others stats. I use to think like that too, and I will always be competitive, but you can only do so much. For Example, if you drafted J Upton, Longo, and Lincecum in the first three picks then your team is going to suck when some other douche drafted Encarnacion and Dunn and looks like a genius. Its not that those guys aren’t ownable, but who saw their years coming and if you honestly did you have a delorean and I want a ride. Think about it some more.
