Lots of times I’ve been known to practice the art of Saberhagenmetrics. A player does well, I back off the next year. A player turns your team into his own private piss bucket and I get excited about his undervaluedness. (<–Made up word of the day!) This isn’t the case with Joey Votto. He, friends, is my new love. I wrote him a letter the other day and it went something like this, “Blah blah blah I love you. Blah blah blah wanna hang out? Blah blah blah what’s your home address? Blah blah blah sorry, you felt the need to get a restraining order against me. Blah blah blah see you in Canada, which is outside this restraining order’s jurisdiction!” No reply. Yet. Anyway, here’s why I think Votto is a 2011 fantasy baseball keeper:
Last year wasn’t a complete fluke. He did, however, have a dream season that I don’t think he repeats. Yes, I like him, but don’t think he repeats. It’s a paradoxical hedge and I’ll explain. 16 steals last year is not the high end. It’s the high end taking off the high end’s ceiling and making a new high end. He’s closer to a 8-12 steal guy. Still good, but cuts his value a bit. 37 homers are terrific. Don’t think he gets there again either. He’s more of a 30-35 homer guy. Still good, but cuts his value a bit. In 2010, he swung at more balls outside the strike zone than in 2009. Not a terrific trend. What I think was going on is everything he was hitting was falling in so he was like, “What the eff, I’m going to swing at everything.” Average might come down next year. Not too low, probably closer to .310. The Reds had one of those dream seasons where everything clicked. If they’re off at all, Votto’s Runs and RBIs could fall a bit. Now all this sounds like an overrated post more than a keeper post, but Votto’s still an elite first baseman in the prime of his career and a first round pick. Next year, if you get 95/32/110/.310/10, you’ll take and love it. Assuming you have him as a 3rd round pick or later, that’s great value and well worth keeping.

maybe his momma named him joey ‘cuz she expects his stats
to jump all over the place .
@big o: You’re a pistol!
Grey – how do you like Votto for $31? Top-tier 1Bs go for way more than that in the ol’ keeper – Pujols $70 or somesuch this year. $300 cap, keep up to 6.
Oh man – Katsu-Ya. Right. Up. My. Alley. Little bit of this, little bit of that. Perfect. That’s the kind of sushi I can get behind. And almost every review seems to be written by a cute-looking Chinese girl, which is fine by me, also.
It’s a family blog, so I’ve foregone the obvious joke…
@Steve: If Pujols is going for $70 or so, and you have a $300 cap, Votto at $31 is a fantastic idea.
@Grey: Before posting I read Steve’s question and recognized there are still some of us Rotoians remaining in the sport. As such, where do you peg Votto’s value in a 4×4 league, traditional $260 team salary? As a reference point, Pujols was the top dog this year at $50.
My league is a limited time keeper one (6 player annual max) but at a 1.5x original cost the second year and 3x original cost for the third year. I got Votto for $17 last year, paid $26 this year to retain and would have to allocate $52 to keep him next (I suspect I could get him for less…but you never know what might happen on auction night).
He’s shown the speed in the minors (as well as having several steals in injury/depression-shortened seasons). I could see him stealing 16 in his career again. And to mention the amazing: he finished with zero infield popups on the season. Given his Pujols level year, he should be ranked as a first rounder next season. That’s a great trade chit if nothing else.
clearly the hype , this off-season , is going to inflate votto’s perceived value .
already i’ve seen him on some lists as a 1st rounder … (talk about man-crushes !)
up until this year , he has been out-performed by kevin youkillis and adrian
gonzalez , both of whom should provide better value in 2011 .
personally , i have to turn away every time youkillis enters the batter’s box ,
but , should adrian take up residence in fenway , he becomes a strong value play .
I need a place to weep, and this seems the best: I had Joey Votto AND Miguel Cabrera (and Ubaldo Jimenez) on my fantasy keeper team this year (Votto second year in a row, and aiming for a third), and I came in sixth (out of 11)! Wah! Thanks Kemp, Figgins, Y. Escobar, Carlos Lee and James Shields for all your help.
@big o: Hehe
@Steve: I love him for $31. Ha…
@Howie: He’s gonna be worth around $40.
@Dale: Yeah, had read about the zero infield pop-ups, that’s pretty insane.
@big o: He does add some speed that those guys don’t have.
@Tom K.: Little surprised you came in that low even with those last guys. Wasn’t like Kemp gave you nothing, or Figgy or… Well, the other guys did.
@Grey:
yeah , i’m still having difficulty equating SB’s to the other counting stats .
i understand that each league/situation is different , and come late in the year team ‘needs’ take precedence , when making a move on the title .
but generally , are 10 sb’s more valuable than 10 home runs ? 10 rbi ?
how about 10 runs and 5 rbi ??
shizz like that .
@Tom K.: You got what you deserved owning Shields. . . .
I mean, sorry.
@big o: In today’s grand game, which no one calls baseball but me, 10 HRs would be more valuable. But 10 steals is still 10 steals.
****BTW — Rudy’s giving Karabell hell (see comments):
http://insider.espn.go.com/sports/fantasy/blog?id=5659398&name=karabell_eric_baseball&sort=oldest
@Grey: Don’t have ESPN insider….What’s going on?
@GopherDay: Rudy wrote, “Your article’s assumption is that the ESPN Player Rater is correct which is doubtful. How could Halladay’s 2.44 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 250 IP (approx. 15-20% of a team’s IP) be worth 3 points each but CarGo’s .336 AVG over about 600 ABs (approx. 8% of a team’s ABs) is worth 4 points?”
@Grey: Okay gotcha. Did Karabell respond?
@GopherDay: Not yet. He probably won’t either.
@Grey: Yeah…that’s how it goes with most ‘perts.
@GopherDay: Yeah, it’s pretty lame. No one’s held responsible for anything they say.
Hey Grey,
You better call Carl Pavano, that dude stole your moustachio, brother!!!
Your post on Votto reminds me of an Air Supply song (dude, dont ask, my Mom liked Air Supply when I was growing up
)
“I’m all Votto Love, there is no life without you”
Rgds,
Sparty
My league cap is 550 and Pujols went for 99, I got Votto for 40, and can keep him this coming up year for 50…. Me sa’ thinkin thats a pretty good deal.
@Spartacus: Oh, you might be surprised at the music that gets Grey going (emoticons at Grey).
@Grey:
yeah , i don’t subscribe to espn insider , either .
if i did , my contributions to :
BUY GREY A SUSHI ROLL
would be less frequent .
from looking at the header , i can see that he’s calling for cano and tulo
to be among the top 10 on draft day .
@Steve:
yep .
1st manilow , and now air supply .
i suppose great divas are next on the docket .
(hehe) .
I’m picking Kansas – Carry On My Heyward Son.
Admit it Grey – it crossed your mind.
@Steve:
i’m feeling a whole lot better ,
now that i’ve instituted my own
BUY GREY A SUSHI ROLL campaign .
when i 1st came upon this site ,
it was “buy Grey a pina colada” ,
and i thought …. “oh well , the guy IS funny , and his points seem valid” .
but then he changed to
“buy Grey a daiquiri” …. (and a pink one , at that !)
and well ,
he’s still a pretty funny guy ,
and his information is making MORE sense ,
but ,
let’s just say i feel better , going with the raw fish .
@Grey:
@Steve:
i know that i can’t keep up with you guys ,
but , i’m going with “stanton in the valley of love”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSpHRqop5oo
@big o: That’s a beauty.
Crazy stuff- not only did Hudson have a LD% of 13.6, so did Carmona. Since 2001, only two pitchers have recorded a LD% under 14- Lowe and Wakefield, in I think 2003 and 2004 (not sure about the dates).
@Steve:
ok steve , i’ve lost track of you . are you sleeping / eating , or working right now ?
1st game starts in an hour and features bronson arroyo vs roy oswalt ….
to be played at that little league park in philadelphia .
i’m going with the reds , ‘cuz i think oswalt is very hittable , and i don’t want the phillies to sweep this series .
oddsmakers , here , have oswalt at almost a 2-1 favorite .
in the 2nd game , cain is about a 3/2 favorite .
hope you get to watch at least one of the games today .
it’s friday night , here .
over there , i suppose it’s next tuesday .
tell me , did i win my bet ?
no wait ! don’t tell me .
i’ll find out soon enough .
@Grey:
ok , Grey .
time to pick a winner .
whatchugot ?
Saturday morning here. 10.15am. Thinking about what you might call yard work…
@big o: Phils… 6-2…
@Steve: A pain…
and i’m thinking about sending the wife and kid over ,
so we can watch the game .
what’s the addy ?
@Spartacus: Ha… I have mustache trademark lawsuit pending.
@royce!: That is pretty crazy. Even crazier is Wake pulled it off.
@Grey: Yeah, not ideal. The other problem:
“You kids watch too much TV. Now leave Dad alone while he watches baseball all afternoon.”
@big o: LA… Just ask for Grey.
@Steve: Dad, what does the word hypocrite mean? No, such word, kids. Now go play outside.
with kids ,
you need separate tv’s
and separate bathrooms .
And it’s my damn TV!
Oh, who am I kidding?
i think it’s imperative for the reds to jump out on top ,
if they entertain any hope of winning tonight .
@Grey: And even crazier than that (well, that Wake did it is probably crazier, but what the whoo), check out Hudson’s ERAs compared to his LD%s:
LD% ERA
May 9.2 1.59
June 11 2.57
July 17.3 2.48
August 18.3 1.71
That his Ks, and K/BB% steadily rose all year partially explains this, but still, what a year.
Oh, and Wakefield’s ERA for 2004 (the year he had a sub 14 LD%): 4.87.
stupid spacing, that LD/ERA shizz is impossible to read…
so , 2 errors puts arroyo in a jam .
and with utley up , and the bases loaded , the ump
decides to shrink the strike zone ??
Ouch!
utley has to test chapman’s pick-off move
bruce is a freakin’ idiot .
and phillips kept him company .
one day , historians will unearth the tape of this game and discover
that i’ve been talking to myself , this whole time .
@royce!: That is pretty remarkable.
@big o: I don’t know, O. I called the Phils. Hope you didn’t lose any money.
@Grey: Even MORE remarkable? The teams I’m rooting for in the playoffs- ATL, CIN, TB, and MIN. A combined 0-7, and ATL is currently losing 4-0. Fortunately I don’t actually give a shizz, though I’d really prefer if the WS wasn’t a reprise of last year’s WS.
Pat the Bat!
Watch out lay-deeeez!
@Grey:
yep …. good call on the reds/phils game .
nope …. not a lot of money … 20 bucks to a friend , but , come on .
4 errors ?!?
Some terrible hair on display in the playoffs. Lincecum, Werth, Arroyo. And Wilson looks like he has something nasty lurking under his cap.
And I don’t mean that beard.
Doesn’t look good for Wags. Poor bastard.
Ankiel! Dude PITCHED in the NLDS 10 years ago.
@royce!: Think you’re getting a Rangers vs. Giants series.
@Steve: The beard is hideous. Looks like a bad dye job that a crazy person would have.
Braves may not go quietly…
@Steve: Wow, huge comeback.
No reason Hudson can’t beat Filthy at home (Braves had best home record this year), then it’s all on.
@Grey: Spotted this little gem in an Insider content box while reading a game report on ESPN.com:
Grey: Believe in Jose Bautista next year
Say it an’t so!
@Steve: Nooooo!!! You know the overrated posts never go down easy.
@Grey: At this point, I’d consider that a best case scenario.
@royce!: Re: The series prediction? Or Bautista?
@Grey: Heard any talk about who may fill Wagner’s shoes next year?
@simply fred: Venters, Saito or a FA.
@Grey: Oh, the series prediction. No offense to the NY and PHI fans out there, but I’d be down for basically any combination of the other teams right now. I was hoping for TB v. CIN, but SF v. TEX would be interesting as well. With Halladay, Oswalt and Hamels as their starting three, PHI is going to be very hard to beat, so I’m not getting my hopes up.
I could really care less about the Bautista projections. Like Mini Donkey in 2010, I know he won’t end up on any of my teams in 2011, so I guess the best case scenario over the off season would be that ESPN et al hype him like mad so that someone grabs him in the first round.
@simply fred: Also look into Craig Kimbrel. He has been really good out of the pen, and profiles to be the Closer of the Future for Atl.
@royce!: Agreed on both fronts. Especially on the Bautista front. Please let the other sites hype him up as the next George Foster.
i met george foster at a trade show in minneapolis , back in ’92 .
he came off as a pretty nice guy , and quite level-headed .
not at all “bananas” , as you might expect .
sorry , about that .
@big o: That’s too bad. Was he as, um, handsome in person?
@Grey:
since he could probably , still , kick my azz ,
i’m going with , um , “yes , ruggedly handsome” .
@big o: I’d say ruggedly sideburn-y.
@GopherDay: Kinda had Kimbrel on my mind when I asked the question. Just was hoping that with Wagner being out front about retiring, Grey might have heard something out of the organization. The spring will sort it out.
@Grey: Sup, Grey? Congrats to I am the Liquor for winning the hot tub. I moved to Denver for work a couple months ago and didn’t really have net access so I told my bro I’d give him the hot tub I planned on winning. All he had to do was make my roster moves for me. Tried picking up Loney (backfired) and followed Grey’s lead on pitching Carrasco for 2 starts the last week of the season.
Thanks for that one, Grey!
I did go to a couple Rockies games down the stretch. After Cain friggin no-hit the Rocks through seven I told my buddy I’d rather see the no-hitter than have the Rocks score 2 and still lose. Which is exactly what happened.
This is my outlet!
@Terrence Mann: No problem, sorry it didn’t work out for you.
@simply fred: How bout this re: Kimbrel: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/tom_verducci/10/09/five.cuts/
Seems pretty confident ATL will call on Kimbrel.
@royce!: That could go a long way to next year if he saves a couple of postseason games. Would still be surprised if it wasn’t at least a competition in the spring.
skipped work , to watch baseball .
am i alone ?
@big o: You’re never alone, O.
expecting some fireworks in this 1st game .
the over/under is 9 runs .
with these pitchers , could be the “over” , easily .
don’t see either of them pitching into the 7th .
could be wrong … sunday …. day game … playoffs , etc .
just hope the umps keep a low profile and call a good game .
@big o: Those odds makers are good. 9 does sound about right. I’d take the under just to be different.
@Grey:
how are you watching this game ?
i’ve got it on mlbtv , with the sound off (buck martinez) .
listening to mlb.com gameday audio feed (klrd , i believe) .
a slight rangers’ slant ,
but they don’t make shizz up , just to hear themselves talk .
check that .
kRld .
gameday actually has 4 audio feeds , though 2 are in spanish , i believe .
@Grey: I’ve had Cain on my squad the past three years. Each year I expect him to regress dramatically based on the projections of most. Each year he has remained quite solid. I have to throw him back into the mix next spring for auction purposes and I understand his value should be high (I got him for $4/$6/$12…our league is three-yr. max at 1.5x/3x original purchase price for yrs. 2 & 3 respectively).
Anyway, where should he be valued next year in a 4×4 roto??? He and I seem to have a thing going and if the value is there…we might continue our relationship.
@big o:
so these gameday audio feeds are pretty neat ….. 2 each from texas and tampa .
now , i’m flipping back and forth , depending on which team is at bat .
get to hear the ‘inside’ offensive point of view of both teams .
there’s been some talk about firing ron gardenhire , for failing to produce a single post-season win .
ron washington is completely messing up this game , re: lefty/righty pitching match-ups .
how is he keeping his job ?
you would think that a team owned by nolan ryan would be a bit more savvy .
@Howie: Probably low to mid 20s.
@big o: I doubt Gardy goes anywhere. I’m watching TBS. Feels like I’m watching a Sawx game.
@Grey:
yeah , i said earlier that i was watching the game on mlbtv ,
but i was wrong …. it’s tbs here , too .
orscillo (sawx) and martinez are your announcers .
seriously , for the next game check out mlb.com’s gameday audio options ,
and just mute tbs .
cust kayin’ .
Hudson’s season in miniature, right there.
Was that a double-play ball that Conrad botched?
@Grey: You gotta admit, I made a very good run at the hot tub considering it was my first time playing Razz!
Heck. I beat you and most of what I tried to do was copy you!
somehow little foamy hatchets don’t seem as objectionable as towelies .
switching over from knbr to wcnn audio-cast .
jon miller is not my idea of a good announcer .
The Giant bullpen has been nails.
And then the playoffs started.
Where I come from, we’d call Eric Hinske ‘Golden Balls’.
i’ve picked 7 losers in a row .
next , i’m rooting against cueto and the reds .
heyward’s gotta dive there .
@Terrence Mann: Yeah, you did good. Maybe Liquor will let you get a good soak in the tub.
@Steve: Ha!
@big o: I picked the under on that game.
@royce!: The kid could have finished the job. He’ll be a hot commodity if he gets the gig.
conrad …. goat
Did anyone see Ruiz get hit on the knee on Friday?
Did you see how far that ball bounced?
@big o: train leaving for AA.
@Grey: That is the gayest thing I’ve ever read on this board.
I’m done copying your roster moves.
@Grey:
yeah , we’re running in opposite directions .
i hate guys like you .
@simply fred:
certainly some “growing ” to do .
uggla seems to have persevered ,
but this 30 year old kid’s only been up for a couple cups of coffee .
he gets 2 hits tomorrow , and the crowd will love him .
I’m sure no one doubts for a minute that Conrad isn’t trying his best, but sheesh, you can’t be doing that.
@Grey: I’ve just figured out what Wilson’s ‘beard’ reminds me of.
it looks like a fake beard that a character in Days of Our Lives or The Young and the Restless wear when they want to ‘disguise’ themselves.
@Terrence Mann:
haha .
if you zigged when they zagged ,
those boys could have been soaking in your tub .
@Steve:
did you see ?
under that cap , he has a mohawk dyed the same color .
@big o: text him some love; he’ll need it tonight. Oh, is that too grey?
@Grey:
am not sure how you’re doing it ,
unless you’re keying off my “moosh-ness” .
so , forget for a moment that i’m going with hamel ,
who do you like in the next game ?
over/under on how many guys cueto kung-fu kicks tonight is 2 .
@Terrence Mann: Ha!
@big o: Phils, seems like a no-brainer.
@Steve: At first I thought you meant Wilson from the movie Castaway.
@Grey:
that was wilson voit .
@big o: I think I’m confusing Rich with my questions. Does everyone in the keeper **have** to keep the same number of players?
@big o: Ah, yeah. That’s right.
@Grey: You’ve lost me.
@Steve:
yes …. everyone keeps the same number of keepers .
last year we kept 4 .
we’re trying to progress the number of keepers with each succeeding year .
some owners are balking , (they want to keep 4 again) , because they want to know a year ahead of time , the number of keepers .
to their way of thinking , we should have decided last february for 2011 .
we didn’t .
we will vote , this coming february , for the year 2012 .
in the meantime , the commish has settled on the compromise # of 6 keepers for 2011 ….. so that we can continue with off-season trade talks .
because we will all keep 6 players , our round 7 will actually be the 1st round of the draft .
you will have 1st pick , as you have taken over the last place team , and we do a bottom-up snake , in hopes of accelerating the potential for parity .
@big o: OK – gotcha. That’s kinda what I thought.
@Grey: 14 teams, 6 keepers – don’t be shy with those sleeper posts (emoticon)
@Steve:
the original vision was to go 4-8-12-16-20-24-28 keepers .
in hopes of being more democratic , the commish has left the decision for the number of keepers up to league vote.
the compromise # (of 6) , while attempting to appease everyone , has one major drawback , in that until we reach a more substantial # (like 8 or 12) ,
3 for 1 type trades will remain non-existent .
this will all become mute this february IF we vote 8 (or more) keepers for 2012 .
@Steve:
my expectation is that AFTER this coming draft , we will see a flurry of 2 for 1 and 3 for 1 type trades .
because , by that time we will have the benefit of knowing the # of keepers for 2012 .
this past winter , owners lost contact and were isolated from each other .
we weren’t even sure who (or how many owners) would be returning .
now , with the compromise # of 6 in place , we may see some off-season dialogue .
@big o: I may change my mind about joining once I see my team
Wow. Phillies all of a sudden look real tough to beat.
Not that they weren’t before, but y’know…
Little late to mention it now, but hope some of you caught tonight’s Simpsons. I ended up watching it almost by accident. Lisa becomes manager of a little league team… and a sabermetrician.
@Steve: I think I lost myself. Where am I? Oh, wait, I’m home.
@Steve: That’s pretty deep. So you got yourself a new league? A new keeper? You taking over someone else’s team, or from scratch?
@peter: That’s funny, already missed it. I’ll have to Hulu it. Hey, I sound hip!
@Grey: Yup – a new keeper. With big o and a bunch of other sharks. Taking over someone else’s team.
Haven’t seen my entire team as yet, but big o has given me a sneak preview – could have my work cut out (emoticon).
Camels!
@Steve: You’re joining a keeper without seeing the team first? Pretty brave.
@Elijah: Hehe
@Grey: From what I can gather, I have Rios, Uggla, Mini Donkey, Verlander, Anderson, Crawford and Beckett as possibles.
@Steve: Punting average entering the draft, nice!
@Grey: At least I have first pick…
No posts on Mondays in the offseason? This concerns me!
@Jester: It’s Columbus Day, let me celebrate my 2nd favorite explorer after Marco Polo.
It’s Columbus Day? What the hell.
This concerns me even more. I’m going home…
Another reason to like Roy O:
http://keitholbermann.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/10/roy_oswalt_channels_his_inner.html
@Jester: Ha!
@Steve: That’s awesome. Dubee and Dorkee.
@Grey: I’m a sucker for anything that makes these guys look a little more human.
@Steve: Hear ye, on that. Why certain players are just more likable. Think it’s why Pujols, being robotic, hurts him a bit outside of St. Louis.
@Grey: Yeah – Albert is perhaps more admirable (his family situation, the charity work etc) than likeable I guess.
That Glenn Beck business probably doesn’t help either…
FYI – Just read that it’s 128 days til pitchers and catchers report.
@Grey: I didn’t realize Columbus Day was such a big holiday. My commute was less than half the normal time. Sad there was no new post, but happy my drive was 15 minutes instead of 45. Thanks Columbus for facilitating the near extinction of the indigenous people.
@Steve: Yeah, even think before the Beck stuff.
@vinko: That’s sad.
@Stephen: We owe him the founding of the Bahamas, after, you know other people were there first. It’s inspiration.
@Grey: Obviously a decent guy, just doesn’t show much of himself. I guess.
Unlike Grady Sizemore. Oofa!
I have never seen more of a bunch of shmohawks (except for Posey) than the Giants. But what a pitching staff!
@Steve: Nicely played. Pujols seems like he has no sense of humor. Shaq should teach a course on how to manage the media.
@Howard: That’s all they are, but in a short series that’s all you really need. I think they can surprise a lot of people.
When the 6-7 portion of your lineup is Uribe-Fontenot, you’ve got some serious problems.
@NF: It’s like the anti-Yankees. All pitching and Pat the Bat. Yikes.
@big o: “Fresh off of one of the worst postseason games in MLB history, Brooks Conrad has been benched by the Atlanta Braves, according to CBS Sports’ Danny Knobler.”
Gonna have a hard time getting those two hits to get him back in grace.
“When Conrad trotted out to shag balls in left field during batting practice prior to Game 4 of the Braves’ National League Division Series, the fans gave him a rousing cheer. When he came in to get his bat, the fans behind the dugout showed him some love. Atlanta fans stepped back, however briefly, from the boos they showered upon Conrad on Sunday night and remembered what he did for their team all year long.
“It’s awesome,” said Conrad, who tied a postseason record with three errors in the Braves’ 3-2 loss on Sunday. “It just shows great support of your team and it really feels great. Hopefully I can push this behind and play better baseball.”
@Grey: They’re a pretty resilient bunch, though.
Q: How do you win a playoff game against the Braves?
A: Let them take the lead. And wait.
got home just in time to see the 3rd base coach
get a little too greedy .
out at the plate , from “johnny damon depth” .
3-2 giants .
atlanta fans are pretty cool , actually .
not so much for their anti-redbirds mentality , as for
their determination NOT to succumb to the current trend towards political correctness .
the chief wahoo supporters over by the “mistake by the lake”
are heartened .
@Steve: Nice… It’s been a good series either way. Braves aren’t great hitters or pitchers, so it shows how weak the Giants hitting really is.
@big o: Renteria still playing for the Braves there.
gonzalez “running it out” like clowny used to do it in beantown .
@Grey: But even if the Braves do pull it out, there’s the small matter of who they’ll face tomorrow.
@big o: Could be his last AB of the year and he’s not running. Sums up his career.
@Steve: True, but he was vincible for a good part of the season.
They gotta let Conrad pinch hit.
They just gotta.
@Steve: Oh. That’s what happens when you follow the game online.
@Steve: Yeah, would’ve been a nice story, but he looked anxious and fell behind in the count.
i think he colored his “fidel” with pine tar .
we boys from new hampshire are pretty resourceful .
@big o: Ha, I think you’re right.
I wish it would rain – then we’d really see what that beard is made of.
sucker !
@Steve: Glue would unstick and he’d be patchy.
@big o: Should just lay off all these pitches.
@Grey: Heh. Love to see the dye running down the front of his shirt.
Go Giants–Beat Philly!
@Steve: He looks Amish, it’s so weird.
@simply fred: That would be nice.
@Grey:
ok .
get your magic 8-ball out .
this one’s for all the marbles .
lee or price ??
I think the Phillies should win the NLCS against the Giants. Better pitching AND (much) better hitting…Yeah, the Phills will be hard to beat.
@big o: Lee… Price won’t be in the game for long.
@GopherDay: They definitely should win, hope they don’t though.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyVdbfyvwso
Lack of Razzball makes me a sad panda.
