In a 12 team...6X6 keeper league with doubles and quality starts as the extra categories and each team keeps 5...would you trade:

BJ Upton for Jon Lester?

I would get Lester in the deal and my other keepers are Braun, Teix, JRoll, and Cano.

@GopherDay: Pujols seems fine, but Zimmerman and Sizemore both K a lot. I'd lose one of them. I'd consider Mauer in the 2nd if he's still there since he doesn't K at all or Rollins. You can grab Zimmerman or Sizemore too.

@David: Any of them are worthy... I'd take them Cano, Lester then Lind, in that order, if you've already taken an OF.

@mrbaseball: A UFO? Ha!

@mrbaseball: No, you're not crazy to go with Hanley first if that's how it plays out.

@Barker: Don't you love leagues that you have to reach for DeRosa in? Yeah, 20 teams are tough. I did a 20 team recently and I think I like your team better than mine. A few picks I'd shy away from -- Dice K, Ellis, Hideki -- But in that deep of league, it's a good team. If Vazquez and Cuddyer can approach last year's production, you should be in the hunt. Maybe you can flip a closer for a piece in May. Looks good though.

@martin: Votto is worth more than A-Gon if he does what he's capable of. When a guy has never done it vs. a guy that has three years in a row. It's good to side with the known. But Votto's capable, for sure.

re: Mayberry Method -- It's something that should be intuitive. Don't see why it needs a name. It's like saying the Water Drinking To Stay Alive method. But, yeah, it's good to have balanced players. It's why sometimes I look at teams and say, "You have speed on one side and power on another." You're much better with CarGo and Kemp than Dunn and Bourn.

EDIT: Word.

@grey- what do you think of the meyberry method? From what i have read, it seems to me that it favors players who are decent at everything, etc carlos gonzalez. Since players are ranked on a 1-5 scale, guys who dont steal bases at all are already put at a huge disadvantage.

Mr baseball says if you have the number 1 pick why not Hanley Ramirez - then you still can get a studd 1B and a studd 3B with your next two picks then you can get two top OF with your next 2 picks -
you still will get pleny of power drafting this way and address the shortstop spot - is it hot in here or am I crazy

I know what you’re probably all wondering: Who is Jeff Bronkey?

Well, I had to find that out myself. He pitched for two years in the majors for the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers. He had a lifetime record of 2-2 and recorded a measly 36 career strikeouts.

The Yankees released a statement last week saying they never authorized Galea to treat the slugger. If Rodriguez was treated without club consent, any attempt to determine whether he violated his record $275 million, 10-year contract, its guarantee language or baseball’s collective bargaining agreement likely would hinge on whether treatment was elective or necessary.

Look at A-Rod numbers the treatment was worked like a gem - attention yankee management - I come to the ballpark to see Arod crank one out - not for Derrek Jeters infield hit

ITS HIGH ITS FAR ITS GONE - AN HGH BOMB BY AROD

I can't keep track of all this crap - 1/2 the players doing this stuff have not even been caught and the players that were doing this stuff MLB looked the other way for years so Arod won't get into the Hall of Fame - I don't care I am not going there - well unless they make the Worlds Best Hot Dog - I been to the hall of fame - its in the middle of no where - the only cool part of it you might get a chance to see an UFO if you are traveling at night

@Grey: First pick in a 12 team mixed and my first three picks look to be Pujols, Zimmerman, and best available OF. I'm really struggling at the 4/5 turn when looking at ADP charts. Want Cano, but I play with a bunch of Yankees fans. Lind? Lester? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Grey, I'm in a 12 team ROTO league that counts K's, and I have the number one pick. Would you suggest going Pujols, then Zimmerman/Sizemore, Zimmerman/Reyes, or Sizemore/Reyes?

And since it is a K league, how far do you devalue Ian Stewart? What round would you draft him in?

@herschel: Kemp and Zimmerman. Tough choices though. I could see Tulo or Sandoval working their way into the conversation.

our league allows 2 keepers per year, drafted in the fourth round and later and we give up the pick in the round they were drafted. players can be kept for 3 years, with each year losing an additional round pick. who do you suggest keeping from this list (round drafted is in parenthesis):

victor martinez (5)
jon lester (7)
troy tulowitzky (8)
ryan zimmerman (11)
matt kemp (12 - previous year keeper)
nelson cruz (15)
pablo sandoval (18)

@D2: Sorry, it's too much for me to look at links to teams. It takes going back and forth and it's a hassle for me. I'd happily look at your team if you copy here or the forum.

re: the trade -- "somebody else not in white fill color" -- Huh?

@WillieMaysHayes: Kemp and Sizemore for Fielder? That's way too much. Give a 1st and 2nd round pick for Fielder? Yeah, that's okay.

@Chicago Mike: I'm actually glad I took Andrus in the 9th round in my RCL draft. Alcides was taken in the 13th and Everth in the 15th. These are the rounds where I take SPs and RPs (in my previous mocks I never took Andrus and I was able to wait after these 11th-to-16th rounds to take either Alcides or Everth). So I would've been left with not much had I passed on Andrus this time.

Hey Grey, what's a realistic trade offer to accept for Prince Albert? It's a 12 team 5x5 league, we keep 4. Plain & simple, I did a lousy job of drafting last year, Beltran & Soriano, second & third rounds respectively! 1st & 2nd rounder too much, or not enough!? Maybe Kemp & Sizemore!? Whatcha think? Thanks in advance!

Wins, Losses, Complete Games, Saves, Strikeouts, Earned Run Average, (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched
