Unlike David Huff’s 42.9FB% in Major, and 50+ GB% in AA and AAA, Bowden’s year-to-year number did prove him a fly-ball pitcher, and there is no way he suddenly become a ground-ball pitcher like Huff suddenly became a fly-ball pitcher…

If they want him to play in the majors this year and don’t care about when he starts arbitration, then he should be up.

@ThePoonTycoon: The Angels love veterans and have their young position players – Woods, Willits, Rodriguez, even took a while on Kendry Morales. Either way, BLAH, to any Angels farm hand.

I could see them calling one or the either up and have a role like David Price did last year – in relief. Bumgarnder pitched 141 innings last year and is up to (81 if I remember correctly), while Alderson’s high is 145 last year and is up to 85 this year. I would imagine them to be talked about, but only pushed a couple dozen innings over their highs from last year. Really what the Giants need is another bat that can bolster that awful lineup!

@Jo: I just recently (last week actually) wrote about Carlos Carrasco. I was thinking about Carlos Santana eventually this year. I will give Jake Arrieta a look too.

He had 11 homers in May, 3 in June, and so far only 1 in July. Unless you are trading Mauer away, I wouldn’t accept this trade if you are expecting tons of power from Mauer.
