@Grey: Heck! If I had that much money to spend on players, I wouldn't need to be a good manager. I could just buy all the best players and let my assistant coaches do the managing. I would only need to do the essentials: mostly arguing with the umpires and getting ejected.

@Steve: I always thought they gave too much credit to managers when they won and too much blame when they lost. They should do a reality show for someone to manage the Yankees for the season and see how they do.

@Grey: No – but I’d love to. Not actually a big horse racing man, but it’s a huge sporting occasion and I’m always up for those.

BTW European horses have featured prominently in some of your big turf races like the Breeders Cup Turf and Arlington Million. So the internet says, anyway.
