Hah! it's amazing in that same "'perts" league my offense is smoking hot and I have both Rollins and Granderson...yet somehow someone's offense is so good they drop Konerko this early? It almost makes me hesitant to pick him up as it seems the previous owner may know something I don't! I haven't seen much of Konerko this year, but if Andruw Jones was dropped I wouldn't waste a WW on him, so I'm going to pass on Konerko and hope the guy who dropped him knew what he was doing. I also have the unstoppable Derek Lee on my squad...I told you in a previous post his doubles would translate into HR this year...hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.

I don't think anyone would do that trade either, but again if you can get it, go for it.

@Steve: Renteria plus all of those closers or one or more of them?

@john: I'd drop neither right now. But Parra soon if he doesn't straighten himself out or he gets bumped from the rotation.

Would you drop Marmol or Parra or neither to pick up Jurrjens? I like having Marmol around since I have Wood as well and he picks up some nice occasional K's and innnings and Parra hasn't been having great starts lately but he's got awesome potential.

No question, Renteria + Hawpe for Rollins is nonsense trade (bullshit even), but if I can give up nonsense for Rollins, I'm doin' it!

Other guy has a lot of hitters on his bench so it's tough to identify his needs. Might try another tack - he only has one closer (Valverde) so what about Renteria (who is starting to heat up by the looks) plus Riviera/Saito/izzy/Street?

Ok, its good to know this shift is nothing new.

As for keeping 2, i kinda have to. Cain and Oswalt have been miserable at the back end of my rotation, so i need the depth. Cain I assume will rebound, but Oswalt is a really tough play right now.

and McGowan has disappointed.

@Cory: They've been using those shifts for years. He's a .270 hitter and a 45 homer guy. If you're waiting for the homers, they'll come. If you want a .300 average, it's probably not going to happen.

I would choose Jurrjens and Baker to own. Then Santana then Kuroda.

@Grey - 1) Because I know how much it pisses you off and 2) Um, #1

@Cory - Do you have to keep 2? I'd want none. I guess I'd go with Kuroda and Jurjjens just b/c they are NL. But I don't have anyone that bad on any of my staffs aside from maybe Phil Hughes (hoping he turns it around...)

Renteria and Hawpe for Rollins woud be vetoed immediately in my league. Maybe it stays up for an hour.

As for Howard, im concerned by the shift the defenses are using. Have they always done this or does it directly coincide with his sharp drop in avg? The entire 3b side is open... I think i want to trade him now after seeing that, and change my vote in NL MVP to Holliday.

Lastly, Baker, Kuroda, Jurjjens and Ervin Santana. Which 2 to own? Right now its Ervin and Kuroda, the 2 most would put last, but i like Ervin at home and for some odd reason, Kuroda. Kuroda is prob gonna be cut. What do u all think?

i meant w/ renteria (instead of Hawpe)....then again, you know how much i hate J-Bay from last year....but given how well my other disappointments from last year are doing (D-Lee, Furcal), maybe this is going to be a good year for J-Bay....

i added some conscience into the trade b/c he said the other guy is a newbie. it's been forever, though, since i've been able to pull off a bullshit trade (my infamous ryan freel / kevin mench for jose reyes trade of 2006)...

@Carl: Those guys are going to be fine. They could hit fifteen homers alone on just balls they're fooled by.

@Steve: I feel like if the owner's willing to trade the guys to me, I'll take them. Not sure why people feel bad for getting the better end of a trade. So I'd do the trade, you said. All of Rudy's trade options are also good, especially J-Bay. OH MY GOD, imagine getting Rollins for J-Bay? That would be sick. And by sick I mean really healthy. Then again, if I were in that league I'd think J-Roll for J-Bay was more lopsided than for Renteria and Hawpe.

that's probably a little too low for a friendly league. Go up a tier in OF. Maybe Chris B. Young, Hunter Pence, J-Bay, Vernon Wells, etc (the latter two cashing in on their track record)....

So Grey Double E finally had a day we could be proud of. Too bad nobody was on when he hit them. They were clutch homers and I'm sure Baker loved that. Now if I can only I can get Howard and Fielder to do the same, I might be able to crawl out of the cellar in my league after this horrid slow start.

Talking about Howard....does the coaching staff actually talk to this guy about adjustments or what pitch to look for in a certain situation? He looks soooo overmatched sometimes whiffing at pitches. He just swings and hopes he hit its out. Really frustrating. I assume he will eventually break out of this slump but jeeze this guy is a pro ball player, why can't he make adjustments now and wtf is the hitting coach doing this whole time to help him? ARGHHHHHHH! Now where's that damn Zoloft?

[...] unknown wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerptI’m going to try and get him off of waivers, but since all the other ‘perts read this, I probably won’t get him.
