Colicky Fuddruckers jumped three spots to become the third different overall leader in the last three weeks. They are running away with the title in Razz Canada, a league which includes Razzball writer Mike and yours truly. The Fuddruckers had the 6th pick in the draft and took Andrew McCutchen, followed by Adam Jones, Ryan Zimmerman, and B.J. Upton. 97 RBI from 5th round pick Allen Craig helped make up for those 3rd and 4th picks, as did the acquisition of Edwin Encarnacion for 7th and 8th picks Jonathan Papelbon and Jordan Zimmermann. With three weeks to go, the battle is heating up!

Check out the Master Standings (you can also access them via the Leagues menu up top) to see where your team ranks in comparison to the other 767 teams through Sunday. The page now includes sortable stats.

Good to see my team kick it into gear the last month of the year. Thought I had a shot at TOTW when I saw my numbers for the week. Where was this production in May? Also, apparently I can pick streamers now. That also would’ve been nice in May/June. I’m doing my best to try and sneak into 2nd, Kimchi Tigers are running away with first this year. Thanks for the props Vin! Wonderful job as always.

I have one more point and a half to get in wins, two more points in Ks and maybe can squeeze two points in steals… Will lose three points in HRs and a point in saves in the worst case scenario… So probably am peaked, but not sure where Rudy’s getting points from to beat me… Should be fun, either way…

              @Grey: Ha!

        • @Grey: Yup, agreed. AVG is killing me. The trifecta of missing Braun’s .300, Longoria average drain of a 2nd half (.195 in July, .245 in August), and giving 440 AB to Chris Carter and Ike Davis doomed it. Was as high as 6 points a week or two ago (now at 2 points) but doubt I finish any higher than 3 points.

I wrote about Paulie’s squad in my weekly ECFBL review too, scary thing is, he has more points to gain! Check it out:

He’s sitting in 6th right now and is a mere 5 SBs and 0.004 WHIP away from another 4 points. That would put him at 74.5 and nipping at my heels. 6 more HRs = 2 more points and we’re neck and neck. If Paulie can pick up a point or two in Ks and/or Wins, both doable, he’ll be sitting nice and cozy in 4th and maybe 3rd.

        2. Thanks for all these updates! RCLs Rule!
Tres. There needs to be a way to drop people from the league who just draft and drop their team right away…Just food for thought moving forward…really hurts the league index…I noticed one team that is starting 7 DL’d players right now…he could have been replaced in April, when I first mentioned this…anyway, I know we couldn’t address it this year…but hopefully there is some kind of work around for next year…just my thoughts

        TLR is my DD…

          (link)

@Wake Up: I’m kicking myself now, realizing I could have been getting comments like this all year long. Thank you!

Unfortunately, if you use the format where deadbeat managers can be replaced, you lose the option for managers to join with a password instead of an invite. So one has to decide if full commissioner powers are worth losing the ease of joining.

At least we were able to get Cueto out of the league.

Of course, someone else will have to solve that problem next season as I am retiring, never to be seen again.

@VinWins: To be clear…this is not a big deal…just an idea for a small improvement…I was just kidding with you about the Cards…I hope you are just joking about not coming back!

I wouldn’t say that I’m really a prime player involved in the battle for the RCL on PEDs crown, unless you consider me Custer and I’m on my way to Little Bighorn. But I appreciate the mention!

The Champions League should come down to the wire though. There are several tight categories that could go a number of different ways in that one. It’ll be interesting to see who’s left standing in that one.

    Great stuff as always, Vin.

I didn’t forget about you Vin, but you did kinda screw yourself on pitching stats. I can’t believe you’re 70 runs ahead of me now. I had you within 25 at one point not that long ago!

Thinking Gray, CJ Wilson, Cobb, or Garza? Leaning toward dropping the rookie Gray for Gee Sunday. Maybe I won’t need to make this move, but got to play for this season and plan ahead…

Hey Vin, you know how much I will miss you.
Actually, I have finally found the key to success in managing in my own league. I am turning my league over to Matt T. to Commish next season. Every since then, my team has zoomed! Not bad for a hot schmotato who started the season off the first month in fine fettle by trading Votto for Hamilton and Ike Davis.

Well, I wish you the best of success, in whatever endeavor you take on. And thanks for scrambling up the totals to give me about 25 more fantasy points so I look respectable!

@Vinwins hmmm I wonder how well roto drafting does in h2h leagues – what do you think ? Obviously its different because you are playing a team each week instead of the whole league for the whole season so hm I wonder- waiting for your insight

    • VinWins

      VinWins says:
      (link)

@Anthony: 1. I’m not an expert, just the RCL reporter.
      2. I don’t play H2H, so my knowledge of it is even more limited.
      3. Didn’t you say you used you used last year’s draft of the RCL champions (Rank Railheads) to guide you this season, with good success?

I’m sure there are major differences in the 2 formats, but possibly they are more in the day-to-day management than in the draft.
