For the fifth consecutive week, Mauledbypandas is atop the overall standings, even with 2 of his first 6 picks on the DL (Ian Kinsler, Jered Weaver). Jack Full of Hate slipped to third, but still has two teams in the top 20. The 2012 RCL champions, Rank Railheads, have moved impressively back into the top 10. Check out the Master Standings (you can also access them via the Leagues menu up top) to see where your team ranks in comparison to the other 767 teams through Sunday. Tell me your team and league in the comments and I’ll add your Razzball handle to the standings.

Movers and Shakers: Project Mayhem (Ones are GOOD right?) gained 14-and-a-half points and moved up 204 spots to 147th. MStark’s team in Cracking The WHIP gained another 30 positions after last week’s 100-spot rise and now sits in 11th place. That’s a Shame (Bold Predictions) improved for the 4th week in a row, jumping a total of 340 places to reach the top 10.

Free Agents: Francisco Rodriguez and Vinnie Pestano were scooped up as Jim Henderson and Chris Perez went to the DL. Leonys Martin continued to be added, and is now owned in 70% of the Razzball Commenter Leagues. With speculation of a Michael Wacha start this week, his ownership jumped from 3% to 84%. Julio Teheran (80%) and Zack Wheeler (77%) also saw a spike this week.

League Stats: Cougars Welcomed (104.2) have taken over the top spot in the League Competitive Index, followed by Night of the Living Zombinos (103.9), Ones are GOOD, right? (102.9), and the ECFBL (102.8). You can find the index for all leagues here. Cougars Welcomed are in the top 10 in six categories, leading all leagues in wins.

Team Stats: You can find the top 10 in all categories in the RCL Forum. Two teams have a WHIP under 1 —  Charlie Bee (International Razzball) is best at 0.983;  second place overall Slocemb If You Got Em (Daily Bases) is next with 0.998. Here are the ridiculous numbers for Charlie Bee’s staff:

IP WHIP

EXPERTS: Rudy pulled to within 1 of leader Mike Podhorzer (RotoGraphs) after recording an ERA of 1.52 and 0.92 WHIP this week. Mike, on the other hand, had a 6.05 ERA. Derek Carty made a big move this week, gaining 12 points and jumping 3 spots to 7th. He led the league in RBI with 44, but his pitching was the key to his week, recording 8 wins, 5 saves, and 80 K, with an ERA of 2.93 and 0.96 WHIP. You can find all Expert League unofficial Week 8 stats here. Grey led the Experts with 14 home runs, gained another 1.5 points, and moved up to 5th place. His 4.47 ERA for the week, however, left him at 3.71 for the season.

Writers: Andrew Nordmeier continues to lead the Razzball Elite, and has moved up to 26th overall. Jaywrong is now second after a 5.5-point gain. Jay has risen from 617th to 267th in 4 weeks. He was also involved in 1 of the 3 trades completed this week, sending Buster Posey and Yu Darvish to Nick for Aroldis Chapman, Miguel Montero, and Ian Kinsler. Nick also traded the evil Johnny Cueto and Desmond Jennings to Tehol for Justin Verlander. Andrew and Tehol also made a deal, with the first place team acquiring Mitch Moreland in exchange for Grant Balfour. Check out all the writers’ week 8 stats.

You can find links to these two leagues (and the other 62 RCLs) here.

Trades: After 19 trades this week, there have now been 167 deals involving 538 players. That’s an average of 2.6 per league. The ECFBL have engineered the most at 14, followed by Epic Beardmen Division (10) and Cougars Welcomed (9). Eleven leagues have not completed a trade. Bushwood Varmint Cong (Epic Beardmen) made 2 trades this week, their 7th and 8th on the year. First they acquired Erick Aybar, Jose Bautista, and Joe Nathan from the Seattle Silverbacks for Carlos Beltran, Emilio Bonifacio, and Jeff Samardzija. Then they dealt Nathan and Evan Gattis for Stephen Strasburg. The Silverbacks also picked up Josh Hamilton, sending Joe Mauer to The Runs. Shin-Soo Choo, Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Cain, Cole Hamels, Jay Bruce and David Ortiz also changed teams this week. You can check out all the trades in the Fantasy Baseball Forums. Look for the RCL under the heading “Everything Else.”

@Paulie Allnuts: First in all of the RCL leagues in 6 total Cats! You haven’t won a thing until you win the ECFBL. Sadly, I haven’t even finished in the 1st Division as of yet, but when you are facing the best, you realize that when you thought you knew a thing or two about fantasy, you really didn’t know squat!

  2. Still in 2nd place but gotta like being 18th Overall. Freaks and Geeks is hitting over .290 tho, its ridiculous!

Hey along with League index can you show the total moves made by each league on some page?

(apologies if this already exists somewhere and I missed it)

@NoonTime: Yep, there’s a tab on the stats page linked to in the post that has moves included. Last updated May 21, I’ll try and get to it in the next couple of days.

I moved up 204 spots in the overall rankings — how am I not the Team of the Week? This site is bullshit and this game is rigged — I quit.
Oh, but first, my stats for the week:
    .261 / 47 R / 15 HR / 64 RBI / 5 SB // 74.1 IP / 52 K / 6 W / 2.66 / 0.98 / 5 S
    Hate on, snitches!

@Mi’atch, Please!: Sorry, there were 5 or 6 great lines to choose from. Don’t really take into consideration how many positions a team moves, as it is easier to move up 200 spots when you are in 350th than if you are in the top 100.

        @VinWins: Ouch.
Just for that, I un-quit to prove to the Razz-world that I AM somebody, I really AM!
Also, there’s money at stake in our league.

Vin, how many hours a week does it take to do this stuff? I am in awe of your work every week. Plus editing writings, and handling posting time for the writers? It must be a full time job.

@Paulie Allnuts: With all the stats and forum stuff that few people even have time to look at, it’s about 30 hours/week, half of which would be on Monday/Tuesday with the Tuesday post. Rudy’s new Master Standings page will save me an hour though.

What do these get updated, once a week? I’ve moved from last to first since mid-April, but I’m still buried deep in the master standings. I’m sure I’ll fall out of first before the next update, of course…Were these 162-game seasons always this f*#$ing long? I’m in first – let’s call it done. Thanks, Vin!

@Tarzana Orange: Yep, they are updated weekly.

      144th out of 768 isn’t terrible.

Looks like you gained some more points this week; if you hold steady you’ll probably make the top 100. Good luck, thanks for reading!
