The Rank Railheads (RCL 40) are looking like champions with 10 days to go, stretching their lead atop the Master Standings to 6. The Railheads are still scoring 119 league points, and a perfect 120 is a possibility. They are now a mere 3 runs behind Chin Music after outscoring them 46 – 35 this week. RR was solid in most categories, hitting .292 with 13 home runs, 50 RBI, and 7 stolen bases. On the pitching side, they had 39 strikeouts in 36.1 innings with 1 win, 9 saves, a 2.97 ERA, and a WHIP of 1.13.
Meanwhile, panthers_freak (We’ve Got the Runs — Baseball Reasons) dropped to 111 points, but held on to second, 1 ahead of captainpyper (RCL 3) and Pliny the Elder (Myrtle’s Acres). Balls Deep (RCL 9) and Bombo Rivera (Prague Defenestrators — Conshellation Prize) are next with 108, followed by The Fugs (Epic Beardmen Division), another point back. Il Gimlet (RCL 43) were the big movers this week, jumping 86 spots to 185th. The ECFBL raised their competitive index to 107.26, though Ones are GOOD right? closed the gap slightly with a gain of 0.72 to 103.37.
Expert League: Tim Dierkes (P.F. Flyer) dropped half a point this week but held on to first place with 88 points, just ahead of Ryan Carey (Mastersball Carey). Tim has used all his starts, while Ryan, trailing Tim by 1 win, still has 6 of the 180 allotted left, which could be the difference. P.F. Flyer hit .305 with 50 RBI with Pablo Sandoval (.478/4 HR/9 RBI) leading the way. Dalton Del Don (RotoWire Del Don) is third with 85 points, followed by Rudy (84) and Scott Pianowski (Karma Police) (80). Grey held steady in 6th place with 76.5 points. While Rudy’s team collected just 24 RBI this week, they once again put up a nice pitching line with 4 wins, 8 saves, a 2.78 ERA, and a WHIP of 1.02. Pitching continued to be Grey’s strength as well with a week of 7 wins and 12 saves.
Team Street Justice, battling Oh my Crawford for the RCL 29 title, had a great offensive line to stay within 1 of the lead. They hit .292 with 53 runs, 12 home runs, 56 RBI, and 17 stolen bases, and now trail OMC by just 4 RBI in what could be the deciding category. 8 players drove in at least 5 runs for the Justice team, led by Ryan Howard with 9. Howard had only 5 hits for the week, but 4 were home runs. Chase Utley (8 RBI/1 steal), Allen Craig (7 RBI), and Miguel Montero (.400/6 RBI) also produced. Ryan Braun provided speed and power with 5 steals to go along with 5 RBI. Everth Cabrera (4 SB) and Angel Pagan (3 SB) chipped in some speed.
