I dont lose much offense at all but get an elite pitcher for 2 waiver pickups?

Guys like Jeter, Mauer, Ethier, Polanco, BButler, Kinsler, Pedroia are fantasy kryptonite. They get over-bought or over-drafted and just don't really produce big stats. Then you have guys like Dunn, Uggla, Volquez, Nolasco and maybe even Heyward who have produced stats before but should be cut already. You win your '11 league with guys like Espinosa, Scott Baker, Anibal Sanchez, Jhonny Peralta, Bud Norris, Erik Bedard, Leo Nunez, Michael Morse, Brennan Boesch, Ian Kennedy.... these are the lukewarm names that put up big time STATS -- and you win H2H games by putting up the most/best stats, that's the whole point.

I think SAGNOF should actually mean Stats Aint Got No Face, since these days there's such a scarcity of good hitting but a ubiquity of good pitching. If Jeter hit .300-25-90 we'd call him fantasy MVP, yet Jhonny Peralta is on pace for those numbers w/ SS eligibility. Or how about Kinsler ending up with .240-29-90 with 18 steals? That's D. Espinosa's pace. Or Hunter Pence hitting .295-24-87 w/ 110 runs? That's Brennan Boesch. Matt Cain w/ 14 wins, 211 IP, 204 Ks, 3.24 ERA, 1.17 WHIP? Actually that's Scott Baker. Yeah, they probably won't keep pace the whole time, but these guys are available in FAR too many leagues. Seriously, if a shortstop is hitting .300, 11 HRs, 40 RBI at any point in the season, don't you pick him up no matter what? Same goes for any 2B who has 13 HRs. 8 SBs, 43 RBI at any point in the season... let alone less than 1/2 way. It's funny how so many fantasy baseball owners still ignore the Moneyball-ish concept of "don't buy players, buy wins/runs." It's so simple and effective.

I got Votto, Bourgeois, A Ramirez, R. Delgado, Harrison, and Denorfia. I dropped Harrison for Holliday. and will drop denorfia once prado comes off DL

Ryan Braun was scratched from Monday’s lineup against the Rays with an upper respiratory viral infection.
He’ll probably be good to go in the next day or so. Mark Kotsay will make the start in left field Monday while Corey Hart slides down to the No. 3 spot in the lineup against right-hander Jeff Niemann.
